Cool Today is the 1st day of my new life!

Hi everyone,
Today I joined 3 Fat Chicks on A Diet! I am beyond excited! I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism 6 yrs ago and to date have gained 61 lbs! My doctor prescribed Levoxyl and supposedly had my thyroid regulated at a dosage of 112 mg a day. I trusted they knew what they were talking about. I have recently been in contact with a long-lost friend who suffered from hypothyroidism as well and her doctor prescribed Armour thyroid and she lost the 20 lbs she had gained in a very short period of time. She also got all her energy back and her depression went away. She is now medication free! I visited my doctor today and she prescribed 60mg of Armour Thyroid per day. I cannot wait to see if this works! I noticed that many of you talk about the measurement in "grains". Could someone please assist me with this conversion as I am new at this process??? Many thanks and I look so forward to speaking to everyone!

Debbie

Welcome to 3FC! Surf around and settle in! We have forums based on age, eating plan, exercise and more!

Man, I haven't heard the term "grains" for meds since nursing school and they told us then that it was a very out-dated way to prescribe medication. I can't even remember what the grain/mg conversion is. Have you found the dieting with obstacles forum?
