Busy mom of 2 trying to lose the weight once and for all!
And I would love to find buddies who would like support as well as who can give support back.
I was always a heavier kid/teenager. When I got engaged to my husband, I was 210 pounds. I lost 40 for our wedding, which was August 2004. From there, it started going back up. When I was up to 190 lbs, I got pregnant with my first baby and gained another 60 lbs during the pregnancy. I lost about 20 of that, putting me at 230. I got pregnant AGAIN and gained 20 more. After the second pregnancy I lost 30 lbs, putting me at 220. And I have since gained back 10 of that, leaving me at 230 lbs at the start of this weight loss journey. I began officially last week, and I am feeling really good about it this time. After so many years of gaining and losing over and over, I am ready to stop the roller coaster. I have been seeing pics of old classmates on facebook, and some of them look great. With our 10 year reunion coming up, I would like to look great too! And the biggest motivation of all are my 2 girls who are ages 2.5 and 11 months.
So far I have been counting calories using an iphone application called "Lose it!". I am also planning on doing Wii fit in the evenings after the girls go to bed. The hardest part about this is changing my eating habits, and finding time to exercise since I am a full time working mom of 2. I would love to hear from anyone who wants support and can give it in return, and especially others who can relate to my specific situation in whatever way.
So I cant wait to meet some new people! Good luck to us ALL!
I am a calorie counter too and I also use the Wii, though I have Wii Fit I am currently using Gold's Gym Cardio and My Fitness Coach, both for the Wii.
I can't relate though on the kids or working, sorry.
welcome! this is a amazing place for support and encouragmnet, no one here will give up on you, and will always give you the support you need.
I can relate with the children part..i have 4, but before my second youngest was born i was 150, then wam....i gained almost 100lbs, and didnt lose it before my 4th child came along.. its hard, to balance work, home life, and losing weight but you can do it!
Sounds like you had babies close together like we did this last couple of times. Just got all but about 20 lbs shed from #3 when #4 came along! So I'm loosing the "same pounds" again as well. Keeps ya hopping, huh?!
I can really relate with you on being busy. I have 4 children of my own and also run a full time in-home daycare. I homeschool our 2nd and 6th graders and if that's not enough I have to figure out when to exercise too?
It can be done - but not perfectly every single day, for sure! I count calories too (have an app for my Blackberry as well) and find that gives me the freedom to decide if I want to "spend" my calories on a treat or not.
You would think with as busy as all of us women are, we would weigh 100lbs soaking wet! Alas...
It's amazing how before I had a child, I never really understood the weight impact of having a kid, lol. Now I totally understand where you are coming from!
I'm a new calorie counter too (not as fancy as the I-phone, lol) and I love my Wii-fit.
Good luck--you can do this!
Wow! I am really excited to see all of the replies so quickly. I have been thinking about all of the things i can do to help myself lose weight and one was fine a good online support group or board. But it can be hard to find boards that are active, and this one seems to be! I just got done doing Wii fit for an hour and am feeling good about it. I just have to make sure I keep it up, and don't stall out after a few days.
One thing I forgot to mention is that my husband also wants/needs to lose significant weight (while I want to lose 80 lbs for sure, and re-evaluate at that point, he wants to lose over 100) and struggles equally as much with this as I do. I am hoping to help motivate him as well, so we can grow old together as healthy as possible and be a great influence on our children. I love hearing other people's stories, so keep talking. It is great getting to know who is on here.
Hey,
Welcome! I'm also new. I understand the struggles with loosing weight. I had surgery almost 2 years ago and it's been horribly hard! I would love to be a support buddy! Good Luck!
