Hey everyone. I am new here. My name is Marni, I am 22. I haven't had much dieting experience -- if at all, since my entire life I have been of normal or even under weight. I went from being an active late teen, to a very sedentary over-worked college student. I put on weight. Even more weight packed on when I moved in with my boyfriend. All the going out for dinner and basically every other meal made it hard to maintain weight. Now, at around 200 lbs, I am tired of it. I have been "dieting" for the past 6+ months with no change. I have decided to "fix" my metabolism for around 2 months, and then eat at a deficit. The goal is to maintain around 2400 calories a day, working out 1 hr, 5 days a week. If I can do that, I will be where I need to be. Thus far, I have lost no weight doing low cal 1200-1300 cals, mid-cal 1400-1500, or higher cal 1500-1800. I have put myself in a position where my body has shut down. I went from eating 1 meal a day, sometimes nothing...to eating all the time, very high cal stuff. I want to improve my life, and start where I need to start. I am determined to live a healthier, fuller life.
i used to eat fast food ALL the time and now i rarely crave it anymore. of course i slip up every now and then but I'm pretty proud of myself for making that change.
this is a great site that will give you all kinds of support. good luck!
There was a time when I would only eat fast food. It was quick, easy and cheap. But once I decided I wanted to be as healthy as possible, I gave it up.
Good luck Girlie!! U know after u completely change the way u eat the fast food will actually make u feel sluggish...well, it does me anyway. U can do this!!
Just wanted to say hi, and I understand what you're going through =D
I started college at around 200, and after moving in with my bf and all the stress involved with school....plus a severe addiction to mcdonalds chicken nuggets, i hit about 245.
Just know you're not alone out there. This forum seems like a great place for support, and hopefully it'll be as helpful to you as it has been to me.
Your diet sounds ALOTTT like mine.. I live with my boyfriend and we eat out more than we cook at home. I'm trying to get better. Don't worry though, we're all here for you! Stay positive!!
