I'm getting closer and closer to goal and starting to get worried . I got tons of HORRIBLE stretch marks with my first pregnancy. They are ugly and some a full inch wide . They go all the way from my rib cage to my you know what . Everything I've read about effective removal involves some kind of tummy tuck. The thing is... I don't think I'll really need a tummy tuck when it's all said and done. The skin has done a good job of tightening up on it's own so far in spite of the stripes and my stomach is pretty flat even with 30 lbs more to lose. Do I have any other options to reduce these ugly things? Or will I never be able to wear a bikini again? I'd take a picture but I don't want to scare you all into never having babies.
I'm sorry you're dealing with these... my huge ones on my lower back spanning horizontally from my ginormous hips outrbeak have faded to white now, but I know when they were bright red I was so annoyed and embarrassed by them.
I know there are tonnes of different creams and oils and such that are supposed to help, but... I don't know if any of them work really well.
If you ever invest in some, go to a website like this one http://www.stretchmarkcream.org/ that reviews a whole bunch and isn't peddling for any specific company. Might get you a cream that does a better job than another one...
Thanks... I've tried every cream there is, Strivectin included. I don't think any amount of ointment will help these. They are faded but the skin is basically obliterated in the area the mark is present and most of my belly is stretch marks, not healthy skin . I'm going to see if I can find a picture of someone with similar marks...
hey i have the same problem I hateeeee them! for the past 2 months ive been using bio oil and ive seen a big difference. all mine that were pink/red are turning white/silver. looks alot better then it did before but i know what you mean, mine look like scars I just hope it fades with time
I have some on my hips that aren't really the result of weight, but of growing almost five inches one year. Mine are super faded, because they're from so so long ago, when I was like 10ish I think. It's expensive, but less so than a tummy tuck, but you can get the lasered. It can help a lot if they're new, and a little if they're older. Basically it stimulates the collagen in your skin, because stretch marks are caused by a lack of collagen. More collagen= less visible.

Thanks for mentioning the bio oil. I lose weight, and my stretch marks just never seem to go away. Since I work at wal-mart, I'll have to buy it and give it a try.
I've been wanting to try the bio-oil too. But I'd like to wait to get to goal before doing anything about it. Mine aren't all that bad anymore. I do have them going from about 2in above my bellybutton to right where my undies lie, and then lots on my hips. I used Scarzone when my DS#1 was about 9 months old and it was AMAZING! And even though I just had a baby I really didn't get any new ones because I was already very stretched out!
I have stretch marks all, and I mean, ALL over my stomach, and my sides, slightly encroaching on to my back, also on my inner thigh (more groin) area, as well as extending on my inner upper arm nearly as far as my elbow, and a couple on the backs of my knees.
Mine are old, and they have faded an awful lot over time, especially wiuth a tan they fade away more...but Bio Oil is amazing, and realls does help to fade them. Unfortunately you have to live with them, Laser, despite mainy claims cannot remove them.
Its just one of those things...I would recommend using an oil now, rather than waiting until goal.
I sometimes wonder if any oil, even say almond oil, if used twice a day might just do the same job as Bio oil, but i am a sucker for the claims, as well as loving the smell!
