Default HELP! again

Ok, so here is my deal. I feel, no, I am, totally out of control. I started SB the end of May and lost about 8lb in 3 weeks. Was enjoying it. Liking how I felt, seeing the weight come off. And then we go camping. I don't know why I saw that as a reason to "take the weekend off" but I did. Funny thing is, I don't even like smores. Well, here we are, the end of July and I have successfully gained back everything I lost (maybe more - I am too scared to step on the scale.) We just got back from a week of camping (that was my excuse not to start back on SB sooner - darn smores again) and I figured I would start back next week. (Sunday is my birthday and I want to have cake is that so wrong?) I think I am just going to suck it up and start tomorrow (after sitting in the kitchen with a bucket of Puppy Chow - Rice Checks are good for you, right?) I just really need support! I know I can do this. I just need someone to talk/write to when I am finding myself making one of my famouse excuses. If anyone is out there willing to just at least act like they are listening I would be every so greatful!

I hear ya! You can do it. Just get back on Phase I after your birthday and post frequently, especially in the Phase I thread. We've all been there, so get your grocery list & get shopping. See you back on the beach.

Cyndi started a new thread today .http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/sout...real-life.html It's a good place to post before going camping, vacation, out to dinner or any other event out of your routine. Get thru a clean P1 and next time you'll be able to post before your trip and come up with a plan for success.

Best Wishes!

Girl, this exact thing happened to me last camping trip we went on. That weekend turned into next weekend, turned into the next weekend, and well, u get the point right? Next thing u know I went from a very happy and flaunting 143 to yes, brace yourself....165!!! Now, that is outta control. I am back to eating right and I have even trying to take up jogging(last year at this time I would only run if being chased). So, I know where u are just hang in there and it will all come back to u!!!!

Wow you guys! Thanks so much! I am so excited now. Seeing all of your progress so far is so encouraging. I am making my shopping list tonight and going shopping tomorrow. I wish that there was a way to bottle this icky "Bucket O Puppy Chow" feeling so next time I have a craving I can just remember it instead of eating too much. I am going to get to bed soon so that I can wake up early and walk in the morning before anyone gets up (something I have done for years but have fallen out of habbit lately). I will keep posting here and will update my weight ticker when I get on the scale. Please feel free to come and check on me. I really am happy I finally got back on this site!

Just get back on plan. Make the decision that you're going to do it. There are recipes on this site for cakes and desserts that you can eat that will be on plan, or at least better than a regular cake. You can do it! (S'Mores are the devil!)

Off to a good start this morning. I got up early and walked 1.25 miles. As soon as I go upstairs I will throw away the Puppy Chow (what is left) and going shopping after breakfast. I stepped on the scale this morning and did not gain back as much as I thought (4 lb). I am excited to get back on track and be looking good by the end of the summer.

Adaem, it really helps me to have a specific date at which I'll be back on Phase 1 (and plan ahead for it: shopping, meal planning, etc.) when I'm going to go off plan. When you think about going off plan, think about the work and effort of doing P1 to detox, and weigh whether it's really worth it. Most of the time, it's not.

Figure out what excuses you make, write them down, and then write down realistic responses to each--why they aren't a big enough excuse. Post it somewhere you can easily see.

The food journal my nutritionist has me using asks me to write down my goals each week. Then it asks me what might get in the way of those goals, and how I plan to handle those situations. It's a great way to guide your thinking so you are prepared for the excuses before they show up.

Give yourself the best gift possible for your birthday: the gift of health and the peace of being craving-free. You can do it!

Thank you so much Laurie for your comment. You are so right. I have my shopping list ready and will be going shopping after lunch. I have a whole menu for next week (planning on starting Phase I on Monday) but finishing this week by just not eating the rest of the Puppy Chow and banana bread. I will be checking in here often just to vent (even if to myself) and maybe make new friends in the process. Thanks again for everyones support.

Ok, so now I really have motivation. My husband just let me know that he has planned a trip to Miami for our aniversary in 2 months. We will be landing in Miami and then just drive down the coast for the weekend. I am so excited and am totally motivated to get down at least 10 lb. That should be no problem in 2 months! I can't wait! He is so AWSOME!!
