Default Going out tonight, what should I eat?

I love love love eating out and since I started eating healthier, I do what many people do and ask for dressing on the side, or substitute things for more veggies, and I usually stick to chicken (because I like it better than red meat in restaurants anyways). It only gets stressful when I don't pick the restaurant. A good friend of mine is having a birthday dinner tonight and I just looked up the menu for the restaurant and I'm at a loss. I don't know what to order to stay on track! I don't like seafood

Here is the menu:

Braised lamb shank, yogurt curry sauce, 'paneer maison', kale & fennel

Grilled wild salmon, lentils, tomato, pepper & white wine stew

Lobster mac'n cheese, garlic tomatoes, old cheddar & bacon bit

BLT crab cake sandwich on an onion bun

Roasted grain fed chicken, Yukon mash & oyster mushrooms, Alexander sauce

I'm leaning towards the chicken. I don't even know what a Yukon mash is! Should I ask to substitute for steamed vegetables. Do I ask for it without the sauce?

What do you think would do less damage?

yukon mash has got to be potatoes. I would agree with what you said though. The chicken, no sauce, sub potatoes for steamed veggies. If they won't sub, just don't eat em!

yep, yukons are just a type of potato - Yukon Golds. And I'm guessing the oyster mushrooms on top of them are in some sort of gravy...steamed veg or a side salad dressing on the side would be a better sub.

FYI - I'm pretty sure Alexander sauce is made with clam juice and crab, so if you're not a fan of seafood, that'll make it easy to ask for no sauce!

I'd be having a hard time passing up the lobster mac and cheese..yum!

Have fun!!!!

Thanks ladies! I'm off very soon...
I have enough points left to have some mashed potatoes so I'm having a hard time convincing myself I should substitute for veggies...
ahhhhhh it's like i have the little angel and devil on my shoulders!
I am definitely skipping the sauce though. I've never really been a fan of sauce.
Now for those mashed potatoes....

Salmon is the best choice as is.

Yukon mash is yukon gold mashed potatoes - skip the potatoes and get vegetables if you go with this dish.

Alexander sauce has butter and cream in it.

Salmon is good for you, lentils are good for you - it seems to be designed as the healthy option.
