Default Karate?

Hey,

So Friday's my first Karate class. I'm excited! I love the idea of learning a skill and something I can advance at, rather than just working out for working out's sake.

It's been getting harder for me to do my work out dvd's...

Has anyone else taken a Martial art? How did you like it?

I just wanted to add that I just returned from my 3rd class. I love it. I can actually do pushups! It's a great de-stresser and a great work out. My husband also decided to join with me, so it's something we can do together. I can look at my big legs and realize that big isn't bad! Big can be strong.

I think the ongoing advancement is a great motivator! Yoga does that for me. Martial arts could be fun too.

I never knew that yoga was similar with the ability to advance. However, keep in mind that I've never done yoga in a class and only recently started using the 'yoga' activities on the wii.

It helps me because I've been totally stressed out lately, and the flexibility helps with karate.

I don't mean that it's ranked. Just that you are continually able to do things you couldn't before. I suppose that's true with most exercise actually But I really enjoy the tangible progress I make in yoga.
