Default I upped my calories.... now what?

Hi all,
I was in a mini plateau for a couple of weeks. I was eating around 1600 cal per day and the scale wouldn't move from 193. For a full week I ran amock with my calories (in a very orderly way I assure you) between 1800-2500 which is even over maintainance for me.

Great, it worked and I lost another 2lbs. But now I'm not sure what to do. Do I continue high calorie or drop it again? I accidentally tallied 988 for yesterday so I'm a bit concerned.

How long do you up your calories to get through a mini plateau?

I would drop them again. Mabye calorie shift? 1300 one day, 1700 another, then 1400, and so on.

The boost is good to get you through the plateau.

I wouldn't drop them as long as you're still losing, that's for sure. If you naturally eat low sometimes, then I agree, calorie shifting may work well for you.

I'm really enjoying the calorie shifting. Dieting has always been a pain, especially eating the same amount everyday which really ends up being the same foods everyday. With calorie shifting I can eat "sensibly" one day and then splurge a little the next. It kind of feels the way a normal person would be eating.

Lost another pound since Monday so it's working for sure.

Calorie shifting really works great, at least for me, for the reasons you say wannabeskinny. My body doesn't get accustomed to the same number of calories, so it keeps my metabolism going.

I've been calorie shifting since the beginning and it's worked well so far!
