I'm definitely thinking of it as a lifestyle change. Most advice says that's the only way to do it right and keep it off! So I'm trying to keep that in mind everyday. I went to a Chinese restaurant Friday night and at first I told my DB that i couldn't go cuz I'm "trying to lose weight!" but then I thought to myself, "no! this is a lifestyle change! If I'm going to change it
for life, I'm going to have to learn how to deal with real world food
now, when I'm not at home to prepare it myself!" So I got online did some research for the healthiest options and found that Egg Drop Soup is not that bad!

and the Beef Broccoli and Chicken Broccoli are about the best dishes. I also found some basic principles for Asian cuisine... to stick to the steamed or stir fryed dishes not the battered/fried kinds. I also skipped the egg roll, gave that to my DB and only had 2 crab rangoons, instead of several like I used to. I was pleasantly suprised how good the Beef Broccoli was! It was cooked in a broth i think, so not in a high calorie sauce. And I also eye balled a cup of entree and a cup of the rice and took the rest home! (which was enough for 2 more meals!)
So I decided that while I am in the beginning of my weightloss that while I shouldn't indulge very often if I want to see results, I shouldn't deny myself a night out with boyfriend because I can't "handle" eating out. That will just make me feel worse and probably lead to some emotional (over-)eating! I can make better, healthier choices that won't leave me feeling guilty and overstuffed! I want to start now with making lifestyle changes that I can live with and still be satisfied! Little by little I hope to transform my attitude/relationship with food and exercise and become a fit, healthy individual for LIFE!
