Default Lost weight and ate cheese...

Could this be possible?
Week one~ I am down 5 lbs. I have eaten meat, cheese, and glorious butter.
I have finally found something where I am not starving all day long.
The only thing I can say I am craving is fruit. I would really enjoy an orange right now.
Thanks for reading.

Congratulations! I'm at a little over a week on Atkins and I'm feeling the same way. I did read though that cheese should be limited (confirmed by the crew here, darn). But I'm really enjoying the food I can eat and definitely feel satisfied. And finally i can cook good meals! My family was pretty sick of the low fat, low cal substitutions (and so was I when I looked at my grocery bill!!).

I read on one Atkins guide "butter is unlimited" and I was like, yes I can get behind this one for sure!!

And I lost 7 lbs right away! Not much movement since then but I'm impatient its only been a week and a half!

During Induction only certain types of cheeses are permitted & they are limited to 3-4 oz. per day. For a lot of people, cheese can slow or completely stall weight loss....it is very much a YMMV issue.

I heart cheese too!! I try to just use it as a condiment even while low carbing so as not to set off old patterns ;

I do that too. I am in love with Greek salads right now and I use Feta cheese as a condiment on my 3 cups of salad veggies. I only use 1 ounce of it and crumble it very finely onto my salad. A little goes a long way plus there is feta in the dressing (store bought-1 carb per tablespoon).

I never liked Feta before. I think I got a bad batch from the supermarket dairy case.

Long story short...my 19 year old son wanted a pizza the other day. I was hungry as well but since I was on Atkins pizza was out for myself. I looked at the pizza place menu and I noticed that they had added salads to thier menu. They never had salads on there before. The picture of the Greek salad looked the best and the price was right ($3.99)
so I ordered that.
When it came the salad was HUGE but fresh and delicious. I was hesitant to try the feta so I timidly tasted one and liked it. I was pretty full after that meal. I had a boiled egg with it just to make sure I got a little protein in and it made a great supper.
Now I get my Greek salad fixings at the grocery store and make them myself. I get the feta from the deli so I know it is fresh....well...fresher then what is in the dairy case.

Now if I could only enjoy Blue cheese. :sigh:

lol its true you can definitely get some pretty icky feta cheeses out there! Some are just too salty . . . but in a baaaaaaaaad if you know what I mean.

Have you ever tried Bulgarian fetta? Smoooooooth. Prob not the best for portion control though bcos it doesnt crumble too well lol

Have you ever had a pizza omelette? That seems to fix my pizza craving quick smart.

What plan are you doing Canadianwoman? (I also *heart* Canada )

I have never tried one but I very rarely crave pizza since I went gluten free months ago.

Atkins. 20 carbs a day. 3 cups of salad veggies plus 1 cup cooked veggies. I found the info on Veronica Atkin's website. I also do not bother with 'net' carbs. I just count them all as carbs.
