She is currently on my playlist Great music to move to. I also have a lot of latin-ish stuff (Ricky Martin, JLo) but then I wind up shaking my booty while on the elliptical. Kind of funny to see.
Anything with a good beat that is not too slow so i can go along to the music, anything by Cascada is pretty good. I get my new ipod soon so that should be cool, i can do it without pissing off my housemates. Not that i'll have them much longer and i don't mind so much about pissing off my parents. Lol.
I use iTunes. I used to download illegally (shh) but I'd rather pay for it and be somewhat more assured that this copy of If You Seek Amy isn't going to eat my operating system whole.
I have a question... where do you get/download your music? ITunes? Amazon? I need an update and am out of the loop on where people get it from.
I use itunes just cos it is the main one compatible with my ipod. Plus i can import all my old cds onto it. So no need to rebuy music if i have it on cd.
Also question for the Americans: Do you know how much in english pounds ipod nanos cost over there? My dad went on a work trip to Washington DC and got my new ipod there cos apparently they are cheaper over there, i just wanted to know how much cheaper he got it for and i don't want to be rude by asking him?.
there are some songs that are on my play list that i always listen to working out...then when they are just on the radio, or whatever, i literally catch myself kicking up my heels into a jog! it's so funny.
certain songs on my playlist now...
- beyonce
- that song by the fray that starts with "i found you...on the corner of..."etc etc
- the ting tings "that's not my name" - it was in the victoria's secret fashion show
err, that's all i remember now, but i'll check later on!
This is so weird... I just got new ear buds today for an mp3 player I lost and I was thinking about updating the music selection! Anyway outside of music I download audio books or sketch comedy, I love to read but I look like the biggest newb at the gym when I'm bouncing along on a treadmill with a book... It's also really hard to stay on track too.
So! My suggestions:
Comedy -
George Carlin
Daniel Tosh
Books -
Harry Potter (I'm such a geek, 21 and still reading these books but if you're bored like me when doing cardio this can help)
Steven King
Ian Flemming
Hemingway (Not the best workout books though)
Music - My favorite songs to run to
Wu Tang Clan - Kill Bill Theme Song
The Turtles - Imagine Me and You
The Fray - How to Save a Life
From Shrek 2 - I Need a Hero Remix
Mindless Self Indulgence - **** You Man
Marilyn Manson - This is the New ****
John Mayer - Your Body is a Wonderland
Gun's and Roses - Welcome to the Jungle
Gary Jules - Mad World

My fav workout songs right now:
(a lot of Asian pop songs because they're so peppy!)
Arashi : Sakura Sake
Arashi : Oh Yeah

and Arashi - Fight Song, which is kind of my theme song for my weightloss journey. I play it at the beginning and the end of every workout because:
a) It's insanely bouncy and peppy
b) The lyrics are so inspiring - if you understand Japanese.... (In a nutshell, it's about starting anew, doing your best and feeling good about yourself).
I usually don't listen to my own music in the gym, but when I go for walks/jogs, I put stuff like this on my playlist:
Helena, I'm Not Okay, or Famous Last Words by My Chemical Romance
Hanging by A Moment by Lifehouse
Pressure, Stop This Song, Brighter, or Emergency, etc, etc by Paramore
I'm Just A Girl by No Doubt
Gotta Be Somebody by Nickelback (i can't stand them but i like this song)
Typical by MuteMath, also Chaos or Spotlight
