Default Greetings!

Hi, my name is Ruby, and I live in the Northeast USA. Just found the forum today.

I have been working on losing weight since the beginning of 2009, and so far have lost 33 lbs (started at 205, down to 172). My goal is to get down to 140 lbs.

In general I've been doing pretty well with losing weight. I've been jogging and eating healthy without going overboard. However, I'm in the process of quitting smoking (no cigarettes in eight days), and it makes the dieting a lot more difficult. I didn't really believe that smoking suppressed my appetite while I was a smoker, but I was definitely wrong.

Anyway, I look forward to getting to know you all, and hope I can contribute to your community!

Lucy!

Congrats on your weight loss so far! I can't even imagine doing this and quitting smoking at the same time.

I have never hit my goal after I quit smoking, but I am hoping to this time.

Good luck with your journey on both fronts. Even if it takes a little longer to get off the weight, quitting smoking will soooo be worth it!

Thanks for the welcome! So far in the week since I've quit I've managed to maintain my weight, so hopefully as I think less about smoking I'll be able to concentrate on losing weight again. We'll see how it goes.

Good luck with your goals as well! I think with both losing weight and quitting smoking it's important to remember to take things one day at a time.
