I'm not from SD, but I have family there! My mother was born in Yankton, and my uncle lives in Silver City! I used to go to SD every single summer for a 2-week visit to go see my grandparents, who lived in Dark Canyon and then Rapid City, and my uncle, who, at the time, lived in Murdo. I can't tell you how many times I have been to Wall Drug, Corn Palace, Deadwood, Mt. Rushmore, and the Badlands! ("Oh mom, don't make us go through the Badlands again! We've seen it a zillion times, and it's always the same!" Lol!)
I am not from SD, but only live about an hour from the border - I'm in northwest Iowa. I love to go shopping in Sioux Falls, although that's about 2.5 hours from me.
I am from the Rapid City area. I have lived in Missouri for several years now, though. I went to high school at Douglas High School, and college at BH.

Browse around and click on whatever catches your eye - maybe check out the weight loss support forums, they're active and very helpful - also the Success stories are a definite must for motivation.
There are bunches of people here with more to lose and some with less - the bottom line is that we all have to do it a day at a time. The good thing is that we'll have lots of company along the way.
I've only been here since last fall, having NEVER been part of an online forum. What has been so eye-opening is how much it has helped me. Whenever I feel overwhelmed or defeated, I just log on and read some of the success stories, complete with their before & after photos - or read about others still dealing day to day with their challenges - and before I know it, the time has flown by and so have all the thoughts of going off track or giving up. It has made all the difference in my success so far.
