Default Hi There from TX

Well, I finally decided to register and join in! I've been reading around this forum for about a week now and you guys seem like a really nice and supportive bunch, which I've read is a great resource to have for inspiration and motivation.

I've never really made the commitment before...yes, I have told myself before I need to take better care of myself with diet and exercise, but in the past it has only usually lasted a day. I've been good with excuses. But, lately I've really been itching to do it and stick with it. I really need to get in better shape and eat more sensibly (especially since diabetes and depression runs in my family).

Right now, I'm off to put together a fitness plan. Not sure what to do about cardio just yet. I want to get to a point where I can jog 30 minutes a day, but being at the beginning of the beginner scale, I know I can't start out that way. So, tomorrow, I'm going for a brisk walk to see how I do and gauge my limits!

Anywho, I just thought I'd offer up my first official post with a big HI!

Welcome aboard.. it's kind of like a 12 step plan.. first you admit you need to change.. second you make the committment.. thats where I tend to have issues.. staying committed. This time I am determined.. and I have 2 good reasons.. a 6 yr old and a 4 yr old! Good luck and with your attitude you will do great!!
