Default Facial Hair. Hormones or Fat?

I have several years battling facial hair growth. I had my hormones tested and the results were normal. I talked to two doctors and they both said that it will go away once I lose weight. I was wondering if anyone out there has experienced the same thing. Also if it's gone away after you've lost weight.

The answer is BOTH.

You may have PCOS which is a hormonal imbalance that occurs-but just testing your hormone levels is not enough. I've had my testosterone levels tested many times and sometimes they are high and sometimes they are fine- but with hormone testing it's not a very good science. I remember reading before they they took the same sample from one person and sent it to different facilities and got different results for the hormone levels! SAME SAMPLE TAKEN AT THE SAME TIME!

Do you have irregular periods? Google PCOS and see if you may fit the description? Do you have just a lot of facial hair or hair all over in general? I have PCOS and have facial hair and excess hair on my stomch (I KNOW TMI) that I have to take care of because it's so thick.

The thing is losing weight WILL help with the hair, as I've lost weight I've noticed the hair grows slower. I suggest looking into PCOS and seeing if you have symptoms (I had all except for like 1) and speaking to your doctor about that possibility- but again- weight loss in best.

Thanks Beerab. I looked up the PCSOS and I don't think I have that. I have regular periods and the hair growth is mainly on my chin and now it's starting on my neck. I don't have that problem anywhere else. I thought there would be some change after having my first child and nothing changed, if anything it's getting worse. I've thought of trying Homeopathic medicine to see if it helps but now that I'm series about losing weight I'll see if that helps. I'm glad to hear someone else besides the Dr's say that losing weight does help.
