  • Hello all... well I need help... I love FOOD!!

I eat when I'm happy, when I'm sad, when I'm angry, when I'm hungry and even when I'm not hungry

I'm hoping that maybe I can find some support and encouragement... I've tried this with friends but they don't seem to really care or have to much going on in their lives.

I have a goal to lose around 40 pounds... after some VERY difficult marriage problems I gained that much weight and haven't been able to get it off... I was able to lose 10 pounds here and there but then I always gain it back or more Soooo I'm looking for tips, pointers, encouragement and anything else I can get... in return I will reciprocate the same!!

    thanks!

P.S. So today I started my eating plan that I think will help with my weight loss... and one of the girls at work throws a bag of M&M's on my desk... (sigh)
  • hi and welcome.... just ignore the m&m's you can do 40lbs if you can lose ten then you can lose forty, just stick with it, are you gonna exercise at all? that seems to be giving me more energy for my days
  • So I am exactly the same way. Doesn't matter the emotion. I just love food. I'm great at exercising, but our group of friends are always going out to eat and such. So I'm pretty much getting no where as well. But I keep at it. College is almost out and hopefully I can shed the weight this summer.

Good luck and just keep at it!
  • Thanks girls!!!

I am going to try and exercise as well... I was thinking the first week perhaps just the diet change and starting my 2nd week I will get more strict on exercise! I know once I get used to going to the gym again I will be happier and feel much better but I know from past experience too many changes all at once can lead to failure for me.

Seeing everyone's weight loss is really encouraging already... we can do it!!
  • Welcome! I too love food, but I'm learning that there are certain foods I just should stay away from altogether. I've been reading "Thin Tastes Good", by Stephen Gullo, and really learning a lot about controlling my eating. No affiliation, just a really insightful book.
  • Welcome! Tomorrow/Tuesday, ask the co-worker if she wants the M&M's back, because if not, you are going to the bathroom to open the bag and pour them into the trashcan. Then do it! POWER: it's a wonderful thing!
