Default i have this in my head and it drives me nutts!

several days ago i was at the gym on a treadmill. I was running/jogging. ANyways, i had this crazy thought ... what if somethign will happen to Gym electricity (like power outage) and all machines would be stopped in a sec. And if that would happen all the people who are running or walking fast would get hurt.... any ideas? lol

lol I technically didn't have my power go out but while I was running at home my great dane poked her head in the front of my treadmill & wound up unplugging the key. My treadmill went dead but luckily it jolted me out of head enough to catch myself when I ran into it plus the belt moved enough that it didn't hurt my legs when I came to a complete stop.

I've been at the gym when the power went out... From what I remember, the treadmills seem to stop but not suddenly, they just slow down pretty fast until it dies. So it's not too dangerous. I think they have a battery in them.

ha! i have never thought of that!

but i agree with others, that it will slow down fast enough that if you're paying attention you won't fall.

what i HAVE done, is trip on my own accord i was running a bit faster than i usually do (usually run at 5.5-6, was running in the 7-8 range) and my sneaker caught the edge of the belt where it's not moving and i ATE IT!

bruised in a few places, but nothing was hurt as bad as my pride!

The treadmills have stopped at our gym too and nothing happened they just slowed down...

But I did step off my treadmill once and stepped on the next treadmill that was running and went flying, my ego was bruised more than anything else

That was the best mental image ever. I wish I had a video of that so I could make it into my avatar... Just you repeatedly stepping onto the other treadmill and flying off!

That's happened to me once or twice. I've learned to always keep my hands in proximity to the rails on the treadmill
