Talking I finally am doing it!!! New Member!!!

I finally have gotten off my butt and began to do something. I am not spending another summer feeling miserable. I started about 2 months ago doing pilates 2-3 times a week but I knew I would have to get back in the gym to do some cardio. Sheesh!! I couldn't even get my $10 a month worth at the gym...I WASN'T GOING!!! So after getting into the pilates, I went back to the gym with a trainer. I have seen her 2 times this week and will see her again tomorrow. Next week a friend (who also is seeing the trainer) and I will be doing it on our own. We are trying to get another friend to join us....we want to make our own "Biggest Loser" group. We will weigh in and compare our progress on Fridays. Wish me luck!!!

I look forward to using this website to assist in my goals.

One question, how do you get the little weight loss tracker to appear in your messages?

Thanks
J

Hey J!
I am new too! AND TAKING PILATES AS WELL! I love it! I did it for a good while back in late summer- early winter.. then just bagged the gym, too cold, too dark.. whatever I found an excuse!
But pilates is GREAT and a great way to really tone up and stretch out those muscles (which being short like me makes me feel like its necessary LOL)
As for weight lifting and cardio.. I BELIEVE. I honestly after years of soccer when in school.. could never lose weight.. BUT my senior year.. when I took weightlifting, I transformed into a new person. So the combination is DEF a winner... just remember you may not always lose pounds but trust me you will look and feel better.. Muscle weighs alot more than fat!
That sounds awesome that you have a group of friends working to the same goal.. thats what I"m here... I can't find anyone dedicated enough to join me locally! LOL!
Best of luck to you in your journey!!!
oh.. and we newbies can't put the tracker on there until we've been a member for 20 days.. but you go to quick links its in there!

darn!!! I was hoping it would be sooner to get a tracker. I have been using my iPod to track my calories and exercise. And I am doing weights, floor exercises, etc...as well. Today we did a whole circuit training thing. It was GREAT!!! I never got bored. Got exhausted and a little dizzy...didn't have enough sleep and should have had something to eat before I went. But since I was at the gym at 5:30am, I was lucky I remembered to get dressed

I do have a diet plan....I am counting calories. Of course I am trying to make the right choices with what I eat so that I don't use them all on a large pizza or something like that. I have found that I can't really "follow" a plan so to speak. I feel that counting the calories doesn't limit me to what I can eat, just how much I eat. Like I said in another post, I track them on my iPod. When I put in my exercise and food, it calculates how many I have remaining for the day. So far, I have done very well.
