I'm a newbie and thought I would introduce myself. I'm 24 now and have always been overweight. It never seemed to be out of control till about 4-5 years ago and I've gained since then. I am currantly 230 pounds (give or take a few) and only 5'2. My ideal weight to be healthy is 145.
My excuse ( I would call a problem but really there are no problems just excuses I believe) as of right now is my bf actually. We've been together for 4 years (coincidence?) and he has always been on the more slender side. He's a healthy medium build. So when I cook dinner i want to cook something I know he loves. (Which trust me isn't usually bad but it's not good either). It's really my own Fault because he's very supportive but with him being more slender I feel weird even working out in front of him. I have a wii fit and he cheers me on but then I feel weird lol. So that's the excuse I'm trying to get over as of right now!
Just reading a few messages on hear has convinced me to jump back on my Wii this week and I think I'm going to check out my local Weight Watchers meetings.

Your boyfriend will soon come to understand that getting healthy is your new hobby. He'd probably watch you knit or sew or sort baseball cards too. And chances are he won't mind if you eat a small portion of what he likes and some crunchy vegetables.
I so hear you about the boyfriend cooking. I've finally decided that I will prepare my stuff and he needs to prepare his, although I do try to make sure all in ingredients are in the house for both of us when I can.
Sometimes I'll even cook the two meals but that can be a lot of work. Once I kind of set out that I wasn't going to eat everything his way, we've gotten better at working together to find meals that can be modified so we can each have it out way.
