I hate being surprised by how I look in pictures! If someone takes a snapshot & I'm in it I just look gigantic. I have been doing okay losing weight and my husband says he can really tell but I'm worried.
I am just hoping that I don't look saggy in the face or arms. I'm not losing too fast and I have been working out to the best of my ability.
I've see pics of younger gals who have taken off a lot of weight and they look great. I'm 47 & post-menopause. I'm not going to stop trying to get to a healthy weight just so the fat fills up my face, tho.
Koo - don't worry so much about what you will look like when you get to goal. Just concentrate on living a healthy life.
Pictures are a hard reality, too. That can be a good motivator to keep you on track.
You may or may not have loose skin. I have some and I'm almost 41, but most days it doesn't bother me at all, and clothes hide a lot, believe me! I would not trade an inch of any loose skin to have it full of fat again. No way.

Speaking quite technically, pictures when taken a certain way may make people look bigger. Perspective, angles, even the lens can make someone look as though they are 20lbs more than what they really are.
But don't worry! Worrying never did anyone any good. Just focus on being healthy and you will feel the glow from within.
Unless you have Mariah Carey's airbrusher, I wouldn't worry too much about what you look like once you hit goal..as long as you're healthy and happy then that's all that matters
Oooo I've definately experienced this!! It's so weird because my mind doesn't think I'm fat! Or at least, if I really sit down and think about it, I shouldn't be able to to whatever it is im doing at 295 lbs? I don't know... very weird. There's definately been days where I thought I looked good but then saw a picture of myself days or weeks later and was like WOW, horrible. So you definately aren't alone on this!
I hear ya!! it can be such an eye-opener for sure!!!! Whenever I'm feeling a litttttle too cocky -- like when a pair of pants are falling off or something -- i step in front of my iPhoto on my Mac and snap away, side/front/back and i'm snapped back to reality pretty fast!!! I have to remind myself I STILL weigh more than professional linebackers in the superbowl !!!
I understand. I'm always surprised when I see myself in pictures because I don't really realize how big I have become. I still think of myself at 180. And, I'm also concerned about the wrinkles becoming more prominent as I lose. However, I've heard many times that the healthy lifestyle....more vitamins, more water, exercise, positive thinking, muscle tone.....actually made our biggest losers look younger! This is encouraging.
BTW - I'll be 45 in July and I am post-menopausal.
I worried about what I would look like after weight loss before I started losing. My mom always used that as an excuse to stay heavy. She didn't want to look wrinkled. I'm 45 and I have the normal lines of a 45 year old but I don't think it's much worse than it would have been if I had never been heavy. I was looking at some pictures of me from my high weight and I was surprised at how many lines there were even then. I look at my friends who are my age and they have the same lines I do. I have loose skin, but it doesn't bother my hubby so I don't worry too much about it. I feel 100% better than I did before the weight loss and that makes the loose skin seem very minor to me.
