Default New here

Hello. My friend Meganbee reccomended I check things out here. I'm 42 and have a lot to loose. I am a fat *** and am likely to always be one. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to put myself down. It is just kind of the way it is.

I have tried many different things: diets, pills, hypnosis, curves, gym, ......nothing has ever worked.

My "goal" is health. I know that loosing weight will help me in every possible way. At almost 42 I don't have many of the health issues associated with obesity - which makes me super lucky. Despite family history I don't have hypertension, diabetes, high cholesterol. My only real issue is nascent arthritis.
I don't want to develop any of those problems either.

My problem (other than an addiction to carbs in all forms) is lack of motivation. I have never found anything that works to motivate me to stick with anything. I do just about anything for a while but eventually I fall off the wagon and never get back on. Rationally I know why I should do it, but can't make myself do it.

I keep trying though.

Madamruppy ... wlecome to 3FC!

I'm going to suggest that you find the threads about eating whole, natural foods, especially posts by Glory87. I do think you'll feel much better when you get this healthy eating thing under control.

Keep trying ... that's all any of us can do.

I have the same problems as you, madamruppy! I fell off the wagon about a year ago and it left me in the dust! Knowing that there are other people out there going through the same thing as me really does help to stay stronger in those weak moments ... so, welcome!

Welcome madamruppy and raj011! I too have problems with motivation, so, madamruppy, I understand how you feel completely. That is my number one issue with my weight loss efforts. But this time around, I am so pumped, and the difference is that I found this site and became involved! It's not like other sites where you feel like a "newbie." Here, everyone is so glad that you've joined and they want you to read and post, and they encourage and support you in your efforts. My advice to you is that you create a list of mini-goals, along with your main goal, because then, you will experience lots of success, and success feels good! Also, jump in and start posting! Also you might think about joining one of the challenges. I belong to the April Weight Loss Challenge and the April Exercise Challenge. There are lots of different ones to join on this page: http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=159. Being involved will help to keep your motivation high! This whole site is wonderful, so jump right in and you'll see what a difference it makes! Good luck to both of you!
