Hi Everyone - I am SO glad I found this site! Just reading all the posts here for the last several days makes me feel a little more confident that this time it is for real. I never knew there were so many other people out there with the same problems and feelings that I have!

A little about me. I was always chunky as a child but not really over weight. Then one day - Bam I was fat. I know it didn't really happen that way but it seems like it. I swear I went straight from a 6x to a 16! I truly don't ever remember wearing a 10 or 12 or anything else. Then when I was about 20 I lost down pretty small about 140 I think. Everybody said I was too thin (I wasn't.) My granny even told my dad he let me lose too much weight. They were just used to the fluffy me.

I met my husband when I was almost 21 and the scale hasn't stopped climbing since. I used to waitress but have had a desk job for about 13 years so that didn't help either.

I have never had the will power to make a diet change last more than a couple of weeks. I was at 317 this time last year and tried to be more aware of what I ate. Last fall I was down to 292 but fell off the wagon again. I spend more time off the wagon than on it!

I made a life change last Monday 3/23. Then I was 305.5 That was the day I had my last Mountain Dew and some cheez-its. So far this week I have done well but I can see the pitfalls in the coming days and weeks. 150lbs seems so FAR AWAY!

Thanks to everyone for all the great posts and pictures. I think that will really help me in the future.

I am so very glad that you found this site. So many of us can relate to your story. We go through the same things, making decisions and not sticking to them, wondering how we got to where we are now, and just wanting to make a change and not know how. I guess once we get to the point and face the facts, that we ourselves have to take a stand and real stand and then stand, that this is our lives and this is the time for me to take charge of my life, (with God's help), we can then move forward and do this. We all here are for one another, with support and encouragement. You can do this , we can do this, so let's join hands and get healthy.

I am in Virginia also, Hampton, nice to have a buddie close by. Ready, set, go.
