Question Can I do cardio with a bruised tailbone?

So, I bruised my tailbone about a week ago, and I still can't sit on it. I have no problem with resting for a bit, as I have been doing all week....but my husband and I are going on our honeymoon in 5 weeks, and I was in that last final push to get in bikini shape. I only have about 7 or so pounds to go. Now I can't exercise. But even if I can't do weights, does anyone know if I can do cardio? I've been watching my diet extra carefully since I can't exercise, but does anyone have any other tips? Thanks so much!

You can do light cardio like walking without doing further damage, as long as it is not uncomfortable. When I was in cheer, I pulled my thigh muscles forcing myself to do a split when I wasn't stretched enough and all I could do was walk lightly for weeks.

Consult your physician?

I already have talked to my doctor, but he only sent me for Xrays to confirm it's not broken. Bruised tailbones are annoying things...I just want to be sure that I don't make it worse for the honeymoon, and I would love to still lose a bit more weight by then!

I displaced my tailbone two years ago (ouch!) and the one thing I found I couldn't do was reclined bikes. Ever. Other than that, I'm good....went for a 5 mile run today.

(oh, and don't sit on the couch for long period on your hiney....sit to the side!!)

Oh, I sympathize!!

The worst pain I ever had in my life was when I fell going down the stairs and really hurt my coccyx (tailbone). It seems that everything was agony, but if you can exercise, I don't think you're going to hurt it (specially if your doc says it's okay). I think if I had been exercising back then, that many movements would have hurt...

The plus side of my misadventure was that it was one of the catalysts that started my 100+ pound weight loss!

Swim. Or see if your gym has one of those hokey "arm bikes" -- mine doesn't, but I wish it does as I have a torn meniscus and also a calf strain/tear (different legs - ack!)

Sorry about your butt.

It is better to consult a doctor I mean a orthopedic before you take up such a call.
