Default Too much?

I am new to the diet. I am on the red plan. I almost feel like I am eating too much for a diet. Is this normal? I am afraid of gaining weight due to the increase in food. I am eating much more than I am used to, however the food is much healthier. Just wondering if this is normal or if I should start with the gold plan instead? THanks!

Hi, yes its normal, when i first started off, I was too eating alot more than i usually did and felt as if i just wasted my money because they told me to eat alot, but fact is that this is the amount and quantity that your body needs to metabolize and break down all the foods and burn off excess weight. Also make sure U GET ALL UR SPECIFIED PORTIONS IN *** or else ur body will hold onto the food and u wont lose weight. Another tip is to avoid little finger snacks such as eating from the pan while cooking it and stuff like that because in the end it might add up as an extra serving of some food group. By the way just to encourage u to get going When i first started off i was 253 lbs (male) and was told to eat 7 starch, 4protein, 4 fruit, 3 dairy and 3fat, and 5 vegetables, which seemed alot but after i was eating the exact amounts and with a little bit of exercise i now have lost 60lbs after 8months or so and still going. So stick with the plan and if u can add a bit of exercise, u will be surprised at how much weight u are going to lose and in few months time ull be telling some one else thats new to the program what im telling u know. Good Luck

Default plan

I am a little anxious. I posted in two places yesterday and no answer. I am going to start the drop sequence. I wanted to start today. I wanted a list of foods that are considered starches, fruits and how much is considered 1 serving. Can you help me out? I am worried about dinner recipes. I have a ton of WW recipes, I suppose I can adapt them to this. Is legumes on the list. I just got a recipte for lentils and bulgar pilaf that I thought sounded good. Thanks for you help

Diane, it depends on which plan you are on. Different plans have slightly different serving sizes, so it is impossible to tell you what to do without a bit more information.

Lentils would be considered a protein serving. Bulgar pilaf is most likely considered a starch.

Of course you can count the exchanges in just about any recipe and fit it in with the plan (as long as you have the exchanges to eat that)

Loseforgood, the next plan down from Red is Purple not Gold, so definitely you should not cut down to Gold. You need to have a plan you can keep up for weeks and weeks and weeks so that you can stick with it and lose, so that is what you are doing. You likely will be switched down to purple here soon anyway. What you were eating before was probably loaded with fat and calories, so the quantity might have been less, but the calorie load was more.

I am 5 feet 4-1/2 inches and weigh about 168-170 pounds. How would I get more information on what plan I should be on and what would make up 1 starch, 1 protein, etc. Thank you
Diane
