Default proud of me

so, this past sunday, the 15th, i participated in my first marathon. i guess thats what i would call it. it was the 2009 AIDS Walk; Houston. it was a 5k which is 3 miles if u didn't kow. i didn't. don't laugh; i'm a newbie. i completed it in about 1 1/2 hours allthough i didn't time myself exactly. it was awesome. i felt really great and empowered and like i was making a difference. i guess thats cause it was for a good cause. the money went to Houstonians infected with or affected by AIDS. honestly, i walked full speed the whole time. i usually walk three miles on my treadmill almost every day in 1 hr., but this was different. it seemed like a really long time. there were SO many participants. i had a great time, it was a nice workout, and i plan to do more of these. it was a great feeling when i crossed that finish line!

Congrats Onestar! It's such an awesome feeling of accomplishment to do one of those walks/events - it's good for you AND for a good cause!

It's harder to walk 3 miles on the road than on the treadmill, because of the uneven surface and the air resistance. You're moving forward through space, but on a treadmill you're not. So you upped the ante. Great job!!!

WAY TO GO!!!! Outside is definitely different than inside, but either way 3 miles is 3 miles! I think a 5K is actually 3.1 miles, so that's even better! Keep it up girly!
