Every journey begins with the first step and you just took it.

what is working for me so far is calorie counting. I am also taking Alli. Alli keeps me in line and afraid to eat anything high fat if you know what I mean! LOL!

The best thing working for me is that I keep a food log. I write down everything (and I mean EVERYTHING) I eat. I make sure what I eat doesn't go over 1800 calories. Sometimes this means I have to plan some of my meals ahead of time.

good luck!

Hi! I am also sorta new too (even though i joined in 06 i never posted much) and looking for a buddy. I want to lose 72 pounds and think I will try calorie counting. I did that a few years ago and lost 60 pounds in 4 months. Wanna give it a go?

yay for you! You are here. I just joined, but I have been going at weight loss for years! And I study nutrition and am in school for nursing.

I think the absolute best and healthy plans are the calorie counting type..ww is a type of plan like this..but it's less time consuming if you know what you are doing..

I used to keep food journals, and I love that method too...I maintained my pre-pregnancy weight of 145 lbs very well with food journals...and kept my eating disorders in check by doing so...I still journal with ww. I think that is the only way to be completely honest with yourself...

As much as I love nutrition--I am cardio challenged. I love to lift weights--but could care less for cardio--especially BORING machines...and boring walks..

FOR ME: Dance Dance Revolution and a good mp3 player...music motivates me and I love to dance...

light weight lifting is also very beneficial for fat loss..so I definitely recommend it! Muscle burns fat.

this forum is VERY helpful..read the stickies...and enjoy your time here..
