Default Have you heard about a man named Ben?

Cant remember what show I was watching. But a guest was this fellow named Ben. He was over 400 lbs and has been working hard to lose weight. He and his wife began taking thier local food bank under wing and donates the # of lbs he losses in lbs of food for the bank. That is awesome. Maybe we can each do this! Inspirational!

Julia,

That is a beautiful idea and I would love to do it. Maybe you could start a thread if there are enough takers and we could post our donations. Great idea. I know our area food banks are really down right now. I am sure they are across the country. Lots of people are having to utilize them now that never thought they ever would so the shelves are empty by week's end.

Maybe we can start a sticky thread. Those who want to sign up can. And then continue to edit thier original post to update donations. But also to email Ben and let him know too so that he can keep an accounting. I want to ask my gym and some girlfriends to also join with me. I think that this gives us that little boost. Sometimes I feel selfish when I know I am making these healthier choices for "Me". As a woman many of us have problems doing anything for ourselfs. But we can use this as a little perk to being concerned for our health. It will help the health of those less fortunate.

How do we go about setting up a thread like TBL for tracking? Do we need help from a mod?

Hey ladies, I think that sounds like an interesting idea, and yep, you'd need my help to get it going. I don't think it violates any forum rules -- basically people report how much they donate, right?

Let me know what thread you want stickied, and I'll take care of it!

Heather do you think we could blend in with the weekly weigh ins thread? Or should we have some place we can post once a month?

Julia -- I think it makes more sense to sticky it so people can find it!

Heather please sticky the new thread. And you may move location if you wish. It does not have to be in the 300+ Club. The more people involved the better for our communities! Thanks for your help! You rock!
