Smile NEW to LAWL

I just joined LAWL Last Tuesday (2-24-09). I weighed on Saturday and lost 3.8 pounds. I am so excited and inspired to have read everyones weight goals. I have a modified plan because I am still nursing my yongest child. So no Takeoffs or supplements or anything like that. My mother did LAWL about 3 years ago and lost 75 pounds. I think the biggest obstacle for me is the protein. I do love and appreciate all the recipies posted.

Today is one week for me and I go weight this afternoon. I am not sure I like weighing every 3 to 4 days. But any loss is great. I am guessing the 2 to 3 times a week is for accountability. My sons first Birthday is Thursday and we are having a big party on Saturday that is going to be my true test. I am going to have my husband make me a turkey burger and have carrot sticks and celery instead of chips and eat a lite while everyone else eats the cake I make from scratch..I hope my plan works.

I tried to send you a pm, but it wouldn't let me because I am too new. I, too, am nursing a little one. He turned 1 in January! I just made the decision this week to try to lose and I'm down 3.5 lbs! My center is closed, though, so I'm doing this solo. Good luck!

Katiejo, I hope my center stays open, so if you have any questions or anything I would be happy to ask for you, especially since it sound like we should be doing the same thing. Congratulations on the 3.5 pounds.

I am so glad to be here. I think this website is the best. I love reading everyones post and knowing there are people out there who feel the same way I do. It is so inspiring to see everyones weighloss goals and how far they have come. it is so hard to lose weight with kids(all the temptations to eat candy and snacks). it looks like you have done a fantastic job.

Welcome Amy, Don't fret... there will be great weigh ins and not so great ones ahead. Weighing regularly will keep you accountable, but also show how much your weight will fluctate. Just don't let it discourage you. The LAWL plan worked for me, and sticking totally with it for awhile for it to become a habit is important, so good for you for not blowing it for a birthday. There will be a lifetime of birthdays to celebrate when you are thinner. Being healthier is better than eating more cake anyway.

Welcome, Amy! How old are your kids? We have 5 kids, from 4-18. It is hard to make time to care for yourself when you are constantly caring for little ones, isn't it? We are glad you are here, and congrats on not eating cake. Everyone here knows what a temptation cake is for me........so that is a huge accomplishment in my eyes I hate the 3 X a week WI, myself. I do 2 X a week, and that works for me. Stay strong.....you can do this
XOXO

Hi I am new to LAWL also.I purchased all the menus off of ebay they are the colored ones.So I will be doing this on my own. After doing Metabolic research for almost a year.I had lost 52 pounds on it and just platued and couldn't go any further. Also the menu choice is extremely limited with no condiments.I am a SAHM of 3 great daughters.I run a screen printing and vinyl decal business at home and home school my youngest daughter who is 11.My other daughters are 14 and 15 1/2.I am hoping I can lose my last 40-45 pounds here with this great support system I have been reading.

Nicole, I have all boys. from 13 to almost one. So far they have been supportive. It is hard to find time for yourself with children always needing your time. It is also hard to make different things to eat for myself and my children. My mom is also trying to help me cook some, she bought me some chicken breast at the store and told my 8 year old to give them to me when I got home. When I got home he had the most serious look on his face he said grandma bought you some chicken boobs are you really going to eat them? I had to laugh and just simply said I believe I have probably eaten worse. Humor definately helps when dieting..

Welcome Amy! You will find that we are a (sometimes) crazy yet always supportive group.

Lori - a lot of us are still on the colored plans - old habits die hard. Congratulations on your MRC success so far, that's really an accomplishment.
