Default New and looking for support buddies!!

Hi all!!

I created this account last year when my husband was deployed and we both made a plan that we would eat healthier, but since I was unemployed for a few months my mood just got funky and I lost all hope for losing weight. So I am back and ready to get rid of this weight!! Anyone else with me??

I am planning on starting Jillian's 30 day shred tomorrow. My long term goal is to be able to feel satisfied in swim wear by the end of the summer. Especially since it's vegas and it gets so hot here. I know i can lose some weight before then. Anyone want to join me and help each other??

I'd love to help. We weigh about the same, but my goal is not so low. I'm about 5'4" and I weight currently 190. My goal is 150.

So is your husband back home?

Good luck on the shred...I hear a lot about it and everybody seems to like it. I guess I should read about it and give it a try.

Hey gals,

Sign me up! I put 30 day shred at the top of my netflix to see if I like it before buying it. So I'll start soon.

I am planning on starting the C25K (agaaaaaaaain) because I always quit at the end, I don't know what it is. Once I get past the 9th week, I get tired and quit. SOOO I am going to do each week twice, lift weights hard and get a better 'base' to my running before I do anything else. Maybe I'll do that with the 30 day shred if it doesn't kill me :P ........ anyone interested in that?

I'm 5'4.5"ish... and right now I weigh 185. I am getting married in Sept and I'm hoping to get to 145ish by then, but my ultimate goal is 125-130.

RMHismySuperSoldier: I would LOVE to join a new thread and get going. Plue our goals are about the same- I'm at 181 and want to be at 135 by my birthday in August! And I love that you're from LV because all my family is from Henderson And HOT is right- we'll both be swimsuit ready by the time LV temp is at 100

Skinnynene: I've heard a lot about the shred too- I haven't heard anything negative about it- just that it's super hard- I have been thinking about picking it up today!

Julie RN:Congrats on being a soon to be Mrs.! Our goals are almost the same too You'll be there in time to walk down the aisle for sure!

Good luck ladies

All you and your warm weather... not fair! Although I'm from Minnesota and but living in Boston now and that's a step but but it's still very cold!

That would be very cool to start the 30 day shred all together (or close enough)

Angeline - I'd LOVE to get to 135 by August... I was worried it would be a bit too much. If you think you can do it, maybe I should rethink that goal. How are you planning things? I'm kind of doing WW online, eating healthy and now I'm going to start working out a LOT harder. I'm going dress shopping in March when I go back home, and blah.... NO WHERE near where I wanted to be. I probably won't even pick a dress yet, because of all the alterations. If you want to PM or IM and we can kick eachother in gear... to get to our goal weights that would be fantastic!

Hi JulieRN!!!

Yay on putting the shred on Netflix, I didnt know you could do that. What is the C25K??? I am going to stick with the shred and I might add some gym exercises in there, but I will see about that within the first week or two of doing shred. We can do this!!!

Angelinelosesweight,

Welcome!!! Henderson is a very nice place, well most of it It would be amazing to lose weight before summer for a many reasons but the two important ones would be... to stay cooler and to get rid of all this extra blah that I have Also I want to look good in my swim wear

I have started the shred before, but never completed it. It was hard for me at first, but I want to tough it out through the full 30 days. I am tried of starting something and not finishing it when it comes to exercise and weight loss. It's time to push through

welcome to the site! c25k is a running program designed for beginners that takes you from sitting on the couch to running a 5k in 9 weeks. it starts by alternating running and walking to get your cardiovascular system trained up. the same site also has some programs for more advanced runners. it is a very popular program that many of the ladies here have used. I'm on week 7 myself.
just google couch to 5k for the directions. the webpage is run by cool running

I hope you all are doing great and staying OP.... I have been doing great this week! I feel like it's starting to get easier to make healthy choices and stay in my goal of under 1400 calories.

Tonight- I'm worried about though. I'm going to go do some research on calories so I'm prepared for date night with the hubby- I really don't want to feel like I can't go out to eat and enjoy myself so I'm going to go in prepared- knowing what I can get with the biggest bang for my calorie buck

Good luck to you all today!!!

I have been doing well. I keep slipping on the exercise because well I am not going to give excuses, but I am jumping back in and pushing myself hard this month.

I am proud that I started making changes with my food intake. I went to two different grocery stores and got nothing but healthy good food that I am excited to start eating a lot better. So slowly, but surely I am pushing myself to change

How is everyone else doing??

I stayed OP almost the whole weekend- I did up my calories to 1500- from 1400 on Friday, but I worked really hard this weekend to make up for it.
I did an hour on the eliptical both Sat and Sun. On Friday I did 4.1miles in 45 mins- which I'm still really proud of
I'm really tired today and I have NO motivation to go work out. I'm at the point that I usually get to and then I always give up and quit. I really want to break that cycle, so I'm hoping if I stay on 3FC I'll find some inspiration

angeline,

I am still in recovery from surgery, and I went to the gym today and did an hour of cardio there, as well as thoroughly worked out my arms. I have found more inspiration here in the week that I've been a member than I have in a long time. You CAN break that cycle!
