Just wanted to say hello to everyone! This site is so inspiring. It is amazing to see all the dedication, hard work, support and progress on this site. It think this tool will be an invaluable resource for me as I embark on my weight-loss journey.
So my goal is to lose the 60 lbs that I have put on since my dad's accident almost 2 years ago.
A little background:
I have always been about normal weight for my height (whatever that is!!), with my heaviest at 185Lbs, up until my dad was in a hit and run accident.
I was working out 3 days a week and weighed around 175 lbs the day of his accident in april 2007. The months, which turned into a year, to follow the accident provided a lot of time spent at a hospital. My spare time was spent with my dad, I ate from the vending machines and the cafeteria. It was a rough time, and i started to put on weight. I also began a new relationship around that time, to a wonderful man who has been so supportive and loving to me through all the tough times in the past 2 years.
So in addition to weight gain from lack of exercise and eating out of a cafeteria, I also gained a little bit of "relationship weight."
During all of this I began to suffer from anxiety. So, my doctor put me on citalopram. I immediately gained about 20 lbs.
So here i am now. Almost to the two year anniversary of my dad's accident and I am ready to take back control of my life, my eating habits and my health. I feel so miserable not being able to fit into any of my clothes. I feel so sluggish. it's horrible.
I have begun to follow a weight watchers diet program and working out at 3 times a week. I am doing cardio about 30-60 3 times a week and want to work up to about 4-5 times a week of cardio and 2 days of weight training.
So like I said before, I will be using this site for the added support i need to accomplish my goals! Thanks again for the support! I am very excited to achieve!
