I'm deep in my mug of coffee this fine Monday morning, so this smilie describes me perfectly. I had a hard time sleeping last night, and finally took some Advil PM around 2 am, and now I'm feeling all wonky. Shoot, because it's going to be a long day for me, too.
Cold and windy, but no wet stuff is predicted. I like to think of these winds as blowing away winter, so it can howl and blow as much as it likes.
Where's CyndiM this morning? I could sure use a cup of her Fog Busters coffee. Wait, you'd better make that a pot!

Good morning, Cottage. I saw you prowling around the Coop and thought I'd let you be first! I hope the wind dries up some of winter and also de-fuzzes your head. Coffee really does help.
I'm off to Brockville yet again this morning for a machine quilting class. It's free-form quilting and I just do not like it. I'm supposed to practice but that's not happening! However, I'll persevere as I'm not a quitter - besides I paid for the course and I'm frugal.
Wee Jazz will be wired this afternoon after being on his own yesterday afternoon and all morning today. This afternoon I'll devote to puppy play. Disney is taking the day off and resting on her laurels. She got egg with her supper last night in celebration of passing the test.
Cottage - I'm enthusiastically into Red Eye Express now - dark, full bodied without any bitterness. Yum. I could use more so why don't I put another pot on?
Ruth - Congratulations to you and Disney! Hope you enjoy the class or at least get something useful out of it.
Same old here - office stuff, afternoon meeting. I'm not sure about yoga tonight. I'd like to go but know I will spend a chunk of time in child pose because I'm a bit limited right now. Hmm, maybe I'll set up in the back of the room.
We got a good amount of snow again yesterday. It looks lovely but I'm sick of it now. I was just starting to see the tops of my raised beds and had been thinking about getting the cold frame up. Ah well, soon enough I suppose.
good monday morning chick-a-dees... guess what?? i lost 6 lbs this week on ph1!!!!! woohoo!!!! im so freaking happy and so proud that i stuck it out for 1 week!!! dont have time to chat, kids are up and running. just wanted to share my great new! one-der-land here i come!!! have a great day gals!!
Morning CHicks I'm haivng a cup of raspberry coffee enjoying the sun shining in this morning.
Congrats on the loss dreaminstacy
Hope everyone has a great day going to be chilly here in NC today
Good morning ladies. It's been spitting snow here all morning, but it's not going to amount to much and they say there's a warmup coming later this week. DD has a hiking field trip so she'll be out in the cold and wind today and I'll be worrying if she's warm enough all day. Otherwise, not much going on around here, just a mundane Monday I guess.
congrats on your great week, stacy! Cyndi, how did you make your raised beds? I found a kit at Sears made from cedar boards, but then looked at the price of cedar boards at Lowe's and realized I'd be paying about $100 for the corner brackets, so I'm thinking it's pretty basic construction that I could probably handle.
I hear you, Cottage! I'm definitely tired this morning. It's odd, since I went to bed very early, but I had the hardest time getting out of bed this morning! Hope you feel more with it soon!
to Disney on passing the test, Ruth! Hope you like your class more than you have, Ruth. What do you mean by free-form? Free form piecing? Free form quilting (like stippling)? Sorry it's not more fun.
Cyndi, maybe it'd be good to spend an hour "listening" to your body, even if you do it in child pose. I find that I learn a lot about how I'm feeling (physically and emotionally) in the peace of yoga class.
Stacy! Hope after a week of P1, your cravings are diminished and you're starting to feel the bliss that is SBD.
Yup, cold and windy here, Skinny. Hope you stay warm and bundled up!
Me:
Had a wonderful (though intense) weekend. Saw Slumdog Millionaire, which was really worth it, though definitely still has me reeling emotionally. Spent part of Saturday painting ceramics (I made a bowl for a friend's birthday) with some friends, which was awesome, and watched the movie Fireproof (more emotional intensity) with DH that night. Today I have work, gym, and home to make dinner. Thankfully, nothing major scheduled for tonight--just the regular chores and such. DH and I have stuff every other night this week, so it'll be nice to have a night at home!
I had a lot of work creating this week's menu, with Ash Wednesday and Friday being the first one of Lent (we're Catholic). It was fun exploring veggie options, though I was cursing myself for making a veggie crockpot stew last week instead of saving it for this week!
Cottage - I hate that feeling. Have a productive day!
Ruth - Don't you hate paying for a class just to find out you don't enjoy it? I'm the same way that I won't quit because I paid for it At least you get some quilting practice?
Cyndi - Any idea where I could find that red eye express? I've been in a rash of bitter, crappy coffee lately (I went on Saturday night after DS1 was in bed to a coffee shop, ordered an espresso, had a few sips and threw the rest away -- it was so burnt and bitter tasting!) Unfortunately, most people just think that coffee is supposed to be bitter.
Stacy - Congrats on the 6 lbs!
SkinnyBride - have a great day!
Schmoo - I built some raised beds a few years ago. I just nailed some cedar boards together into a square, attached some little boards with points on the ends to the corners to secure it (the little boards went vertically downward into the ground). It was quick, easy and inexpensive.

Had a fun weekend! Saturday we did Mardi Gras stuff until it started to rain in the evening. Sunday was our niece's birthday (we bought her one of the small ipods) and we spent the afternoon and evening just hanging out with the family.
Calvin is completely potty trained! Oy, what a relief!
This is my first opportunity to sit this morning! Finally enjoying my coffee and a chat. Did my weekly shopping and got all the ingredients for Cyndi's white bean, spinach and artichoke soup. Sounds yummy!
Cottage -- If I take any of the PM products, it has to be before 9 p.m. or I will be wonky, too. Maybe you can work a nap in?
Ruth! I know you are excited about Disney. You both deserve a break! What will her 'job' be now?
Beachgal -- I don't like intensely emotional movies, only frivolous comedy or romance. I saw The Color Purple many moons ago and cried for two days. Not worth it! Not everyone can be deep thinkers.
Zeff -- Laissez Le Bon Temps Roullier! Hope you pass a good time! We'll be in Lake Charles Friday and I'm very excited!
Chelby - hope you have a great time in Lake Charles. I'll PM you my number in case ya'll need to take a potty break somewhere around Lafayette What are you looking forward to the most about being back in LA?
Good morning chickies! Hope everyone is doing fine! I will try to pop back in for personals later... Just got lots to do today and have been chatting away online with my grandpa all morning, time to get busy!
I was bad this weekend... and Some stupid little thing is telling me in the back of my mind that I can't lose until after I go to the biggest loser interview... BUT, I am determined to hit it harder than ever after Saturday!!!!!!!
Hope you all have a great day! I am off to clean and get groceries!
Zeff -- I'm very excited about seeing my family. My brother is stationed in Okinawa, Japan and gets to come home once a year. I'm also excited about a crawfish boil Sunday afternoon. Yum! Even Auston loves crawfish. If I can stay out of the boudin, I'll be doing good. I'm going to try on last summer's shorts. Hopefully they'll still fit. It's always warmer in Louisiana than it is here. Yay Spring!
Laurie - I let Brian help me look at the fish recipes on the Cooking Light website and somehow I have 3 fish and one shrimp recipe planned this week. I tried to convince him to spread them out during Lent but there are plenty of other things to try. I got everything I need except I wasn't going to pay $15 for halibut steaks when I only needed filets so I'll try another grocery store.
Zeff - Congrats on the potty training. I heard Brian get up to use the restroom at midnight last night. He doesn't even remember he got up but it always wakes me up. He was in pullups at night for a long time but he outgrew it eventually.
No time for more personals now. Tonight is scouts and I'm fixing Peking Pasta with Chicken tonight. I'm adding in spinach, mushrooms and asparagas to make it healthier.
Cottage -Hopefully you are not still wonky by now.
Ruth- Congratulations to you and Disney.
Cyndi - I hope you feel better soon. I would go and enjoy the child's pose so relaxing.
Stacy - Congratulations on 6 lbs that is great.
Skinny- Stay warm today!
Schmoodle- Hopefully DD well stay warm all day. It started out cold today as well very hard to get moving especially with a cold hovering deciding if it is going to stay or leave.
Beachgal - I want to see Fireproof, but I know it will be an emotional movie.
Zeff - Sounds like you had a good time. Congratulations on completing potty training. We still have issues with going #2 for DD2 but it has to do with constipation issues she has always had.
Chelby- I know you must be getting very excited to see your family, I know I always do
Rdw1- don't listening to that nugget in your head and go for it. You will feel better.
Barb- good luck on the fish recipes- I am not really a big fish eater at all.
As for me day at work today- feeling slightly off balance as I can't decide if I am going to come down full boil with cold or what. Make up your mind is what I say, so I am fighting it LOL. Tonight more rest and that is about it.
