Our old oven was a nightmare. The oven was taking forever to heat and eventually just kept shutting on and off. It was old and came with the house so we decided to upgrade.
The new oven has a little mini-oven on the top that is really what we would use 90% of the time. You can fit a tray of cookies, a pizza, basically anything you would only need one shelf for that isn't too high. That's where the broiler is and the bottom, main oven has a convection oven.
Anyhow, hubby was anxious to try it out when he got home so he made a stir-fry. unfortunately, I'm a really picky brat and I hate when he makes the chicken in the big hunks. It always just has a funny texture to me. I like it cut thin, at an angle. Of course he made it the chunky way and.. well, I've not been feeling that great today so the thought of having to eat the chicken like that made me want to hurl.
I was just going to have something light for dinner. Turkey and a salad or something but then hubby came in and broiled a piece of salmon for me. Holy yummy, Batman! In 5 minutes he made the yummiest piece of fish ever. He only used a little soy sauce and pepper and I think a little bit of chili oil or something. It had the nicest crust on top and was just amazing. That and a mixed green salad with tomatoes and avocado and it was probably the best meal I've had all week.
Okay, so I guess the thread should really be titled, "I LOVE my hubby and my new oven!"
