Good morning and happy Wednesday! It's clear and dry here right now, but some weather is heading towards us and should be here later this afternoon. I just hope it's rain, rather than snow, so I won't have to deal with slippery roads on my ride home.
I have a fragrant pot of coffee at my side, and am about to tuck into my oatmeal with chopped apples and walnuts. That should get my day off and running in the right direction!
Good morning from clear and cold Delta! I'm tired this morning as Jazz woke me up twice in the night with "puppy" crying. I've no idea what the problem was unless it was that his day was too stimulating with Donna here cleaning, visiting the nursing home and then company for dinner. Right now he's asleep on the couch and Disney has claimed the grey chair.
Dinner was fun last night. Connie was widowed three years ago and lives by herself so really enjoyed coming over for a long chat and lots of dog cuddling. I just knew her casually but she has turned up at Church the past two Sundays so I spontaneously asked her to dinner. I think we may become good friends.
Disney and I do pet therapy at the clinic until two this afternoon and then I have a load of good clothing to take to our local clothing exchange. I am finally getting rid of Harry's shirts and custom made suits. That frees up a closet. When he retired back in the 80s, he had 13 suits and they just sat there except for weddings and funerals. Somebody may as well use them.
Oatmeal and apple sounds good this morning, Cottage. Thanks for mentioning it.
Good morning gals I've got a pot of Red Eye Express on and am indulging.
Cottage - Hope you get the rainy part of the storm!
Ruth - How nice to find a new friend nearby.
Jenne thinking of you today
Nothing much here today. We've got that storm coming our way with snow and maybe a little ice. I've got another massage appt. this afternoon that I'm going to even if I have to drive 20 all the way there and back. I'm going to plan a WAH day tomorrow though. I was already taking the afternoon for a chiropractor appt and the morning commute looks like the worst of the storm. I think I'll sit this one out from home.
Good morning chicks! I check in daily, but most days you're so chatty, I don't have time for personals!
Cottage - ohhh, oatmeal does sound good...drive safe today! I'm three hours west of you...I'll see it a couple of hours earlier.
Ruth - that sounds lovely! I've actually developed more friendships in 2 years of living here than I did of 8 years at my last location.
Cyndi - a massage sounds wonderful. Sorry to hear that it's a necessity for you, I hope it gives you relief.
me - some of you on facebook probably saw the bank accepted our offer on the house! I was pretty sure they would (otherwise it's auctioned on March 12), I'm much more nervous about the inspections. They won't compromise on the price (since it's a short sale) so it may reveal some costly repairs. Never mind, the finances are scaring the beans out of me, since we don't know the direction of the economy!
Otherwise...typical shorter day at work. I'm thinkin' DS may get out early, since there's sleet, etc. headed this way, although you never know what happens til it happens.
Happy Humpday! I think, maybe, possibly, I may be starting to feel human again. Not too much going on around here today. DD's last basketball game was Sunday, so no practice tonight. I do have to attend a meeting at the middle school, apparently they are shaking things up over there next year, and since my youngest will be starting 6th grade, I guess I need to know what's going on. DS will be in 7th grade, and now that he's used to things the way they are, I guess he'll have to readjust as well. Other than that, just trying to get back in the right work frame of mind. I posted a bunch of DD1's stuff on eBay for her and her auctions end tomorrow, so I need to make sure she's got everything packaged up and ready for me to take to the PO. Oh, and avoiding looking at the stacks of Girl Scout cookies all over the kitchen table. I think I'll carry them to the basement just to get them out of my head for a while.
Just be excited Tammy! Things will work out with your house. Ruth, nice of you to invite Connie home - I'm sure she enjoyed herself. And how nice for you to find a new friend! cottage, hmmm, oatmeal and apples, now you've got me pondering too. I just haven't had much appetite lately. Maybe that would go down okay. Be careful coming home today! Jenny. Thinking of you. And you GonnaBe. I'm sorry things are so tough right now. You chicks take care of yourselves. Hope your MIL is doing well today Gonna.
I see you are all moved, zeff, what are you, Wonder Woman? Moving takes me weeks and weeks of packing and whining.
Hi Pearlrose and Barb!
Hello stacy and threesons! Hope you are feeling better today stacy.
ETA: Hi Chelby! Yes, it feels good to be back in the real world again.
ooooh, it's just started snowing here. Pretty.
Batten your hatches, Eastern chicks!
It's a good thing I'm not up too early. I don't think I could come up with the clever names for the morning chats.
Cottage -- Oatmeal for breakfast sounds great! Since I've been on phase 2, I've still not added carbs to breakfast.
Ruth -- New friends are wonderful! Was your day 'terrific' yesterday?
Cyndi -- Do you get sports massages? My sister does. She says they are not relaxing at all!
Twynn -- Good luck on your house inspection.
Me -- We are getting the bottom of the storms you all are getting today. There is a moderate chance of severe weather this afternoon... thunderstorms and tornadoes. Last year, my SIL's house, which is 10 miles from mine, got hit by a small tornado. The roof was damaged and they lost big trees. The family was safe, but in the house. Their son, who is Auston's age, is still traumatized and talks about it. We, thankfully, have a basement.
You all stay safe in the weather today!
ETA: Good Morning, Schmoodle. Glad you are in the land of the living.
happy hump day ya'll.... i was quickly reading these posts and thought storm??? what storm?? we have a backsplit house and our room is one one of the lower levels, so i didnt look outside... well its here in southern ontario... and its snow! yuck... we just had a warm front come through last week and our 10 feet of snow melted... oh well get the boots back out for the kids lol.... anyways.... my scale moved... in the right direction! 220.2 today!! woohoo!! ...phase1 is the biggest and bestest rush!! i love it when the scale moves lol... have a great day on the beach gals. savannah is calling mummy! so i gotta go, talk later... snow ugh!
its snowing here this morning although the weatherman says less than an inch i think we have that already. nothing happening here today just hoping to make it to the gym.
Good morning everyone!! I can't believe it is Wednesday already! The week has been fast and furious so far! The girls are sleeping well, which means I need to start getting up for morning walks...so that is on the agenda for tomorrow. It has been so long I hope I remember how!
I will come back later hopefully for more. I haven't even had a chance to start the coffee yet!
Good morning all! I have been awake for a few hours now. . .the joy of having an 8 month old. Look forward to a fun day with the kids and another 4 year old in the mix this afternoon.
All this talk about snow made me go check the weather report. I didn't know we were getting snow today. ..not much but snow. I have gotten spoiled with the "warm" weather and sunny days (I guess I was thinking it was springtime. . .I know it is the middle of February. . .still winter.)
Good morning, everyone! I made it out of bed at a reasonable time two days in a row! How great is that?!
Cottage: I hope you're experiencing rain rather than snow as well. I'm trying to get DH more interested in exciting coffees, our Folger's Classic Roast is getting a little bland for my taste. Any suggestions for a "manly-man" who likes his "women strong and his coffee stronger?" Have a safe and pleasant day!
Ruth: I'm glad you had a nice visit with Connie and I hope the two of you do become close. I'm sorry poor Disney kept you up last night. My little wiener dog is whining at the front door because DH just left for work. They are expressive creatures, aren't they?
Cyndi: How did you sleep last night? I'm glad you'll be home for what seems like the worst of the storm. I hope your massage is nice, relaxing and healing.
Twynn: Congrats on the offer being accepted!! I'll be thinking about you as you go through the inspection process and will be sending good thoughts your way. (I'll have to go hunt you down on Facebook now!)
Schmoodle: Hello, my dear. I'm SO glad you're feeling alive again. You had me a bit worried. I feel your Girl Scout Cookie pain as we have a troop mom in our office and she sells her socks off! Nobody really wants to eat them , so they just bring them to the break room. I decided I'm going to avoid that room all this week!
Chelby: I'll be sending prayers your way as you and your family go through these bad storms. Check in when you can!
Stacy: Congrats on seeing that scale move! Sounds like you're really sticking to P1! That's good to hear! Enjoy your day!
me4life: Stay safe in the snow and I'm sure you'll make it to the gym!!
Natalie'sMom: I concur; this week is speeding by! I'm glad the girls are sleeping so well and that you'll be able to start your morning walks again!
Me: Not much here. Just finished oatmeal and turkey bacon for breakfast and I'm about to do the dishes and then get dressed for work. Aside from my workout, I was rather lazy last night. I was feeling puffed up and proud of all I did yesterday morning that I thought I deserved some Wii time. Well, that turned into a lot of Wii time! I swear, I'm just like a 12-year old when it comes to that Wii! So, as I was turning the Wii off to get ready for bed, I noticed the stack of dust on the entertainment unit. That's right, STACK of dust. I was almost crazy enough to start cleaning it right then and there at 10 pm, but DH was the voice of reason. I'll be cleaning quite a bit tonight and will limit Wii time to my lunch break today.
Starting my day late at work is nice, in terms of sleeping in, but I feel like I'm trying to play "catch up" here! Sorry for not doing personals for everyone.
Hope the massage helps, Cyndi!
Oughta sight, oughta mind helps for me too, Schmoo! Hope you're feeling better.
Good luck with the house, Twynn!
Kim, I got to experience Wii for the first time yesterday at PT! My therapist had me do a couple of the balance exercises on the Fit board to see how my knee is doing. It was comical, I tell ya!
Ruth, I'm glad you're clearing out all that clutter! I don't know if they have a program in Canada for this, but here we have a couple of different programs (for men and for women) that work to get interview outfits to needy people--usually suits. I think Dress for Success is one of the women's ones, but I don't know the name of the men's. I'm sure the suits will be helpful to others. With all the clutter-clearing you're doing, chicky, if it's true that clutter makes you overweight, you're likely to slim down to nothing in no time!
Me:
It's a pretty normal day for me. Work, gym, making dog food, dinner, eating disorder group, then some time with DH and off to bed. Nothing too exciting, though I'm hoping to catch up on some TV while doing the last two steps with the dog food (getting turkey meat off a bunch of turkey legs I cooked and scooping out acorn squash from the cooked halves). Maybe some Grey's Anatomy! I missed the episode where Hahn leaves--still have no idea what happened, though I was really sad to hear it, as I loved what they were doing with her character at the beginning of the season (I loved how she reacted to the news that they were twelfth).
Hope you all have a good day and stay safe and warm.
I was just finishing up the last of the personal replies when my post just when poof and disappeared. Been happening quite a bit weird.
So I don't have time to rewrite it so I will just have to say Hello to all.
I am going to try and find a few of you on facebook.
I am on day 2 of Phase 1, going good but I can tell I have been bad with eating because I am starting to get a headache that is even with eating beans. LOL it will be worth it to get back on track.
Have a great day Ladies and those with snow and storms keep safe
pearl - I had that problem for awhile so I got in the habit of selecting my post and copying it before I hit Submit. Then if it disappeared I could just paste it back in.
Me - Work has been slow today and I'm still working from home so I got the house mopped while on a conference call. It feels nice to have a clean floor. I'd rather be outside working in the yard but I do have to stay near the laptop.
