Take your pick! I'm hoping for terrific but it's sure going to be busy today.
- Donna comes to clean at 9 which means a flurry of tidying beforehand.
- deliver tonight's dinner to a friend is going through a bad time. (A DH who tried to commit suicide is bad, right?)
- Claire and I have to pack, distribute and deliver the Good Food orders
- a "visitation" for a friend's father in Kemptville (50 min. drive) 2 to 4
- Jazz and I are scheduled for nursing home visits 3:30 to 5:30
- new friend is coming for dinner at 6 - Salsa Chicken, rice & spinach
Any suggestions to make it terrific instead of terrible?
Ruthless is telling me to get off my fluffy butt and just get on with it! Did I ever mention how much I dislike that woman?
** Sob! ** I guess this is not going to be a day that ends with sitting and watching AI with the dogs and my sewing.
Coffee's ready and the kettle's on, too! Come and join me for a nice cup and a morning chat before we get on with our day.
Yesterday was a long work day for me, I was with the girls from 8am to nearly 8pm! But we had a fun day at the museum, and I got to enjoy the company of two of my grandchildren, too, so it was a good day.
This morning I'm off to the hairdresser for my monthly cut and color, and I have a few errands to run before heading over to Cindy's. It's looking to be a nice sunny day, too, and I should be getting home at a decent hour.
You beat me to it by a few minutes, Ruth! It sounds like you have a pretty busy and stressful day ahead. You are going to brighten a lot of people's day just by being with them today, and I'm sure your dinner with your new friend is going to turn out to be a delightful evening!
Hiya Ruth! Sounds like your Tuesday is jam-packed! To make it terrific...Trust me, any suggestions I have will lead to offplan eating...and I don't wanna incur the wrath of Ruthless!
Cottage: Your monday sounds really nice. I love the museum. Have fun getting your hair done!
As for me, I have been MIA from the boards lately. Massive argument with DH at the end of last week led to massive offplan eating. and yeah, Valentines Day was a ROFLmania of sarcasm. I have also gotten tonsilitus AGAIN and so I'm home from work today. I had a nasty fever last night and still feel pretty crappy today. I'm not gonna lie, still eating off plan, but I hope to make a fresh start of it once I'm better.
That's enough of my moaning...what are y'all up to?
Ruth - Wow, I'm tired just reading about your day! We do the same thing when the cleaning person comes - run around like nuts cleaning first. It's the weirdest thing Hope your dinner tonight is just what you need.
Cottage - It's nice that your grandchildren have playdates with the two you watch. Enjoy your more relaxing day.
Jenny - Ugh, sounds like a stressful few days. One thing I had to learn though - eating off plan (binging in my case) doesn't make the person I'm annoyed with any fatter. Hope you kick that bug quickly. There's a lot of it going around here.
I've got a long day, meeting at 5:30 and morning meeting so no late start. I do plan to get out for a lunchtime walk though, which always helps. I don't want to skip down the whiny path again but will just say I haven't slept through the night in a week now. Just waiting it out.
Well the sun will be out and the temps will be around freezing so I'm going to enjoy the hints of spring coming. I noticed last night it was still light when I went to yoga at 5:30! I love the longer days. How is your day shaping up?
Ruth -- My suggestion for making your day terrific is to put on some fabulous music while you are doing your errands. I currently have Abba Gold in the CD player. Who can be unhappy with Dancing Queen playing?
Cottage -- I need to visit the hairdresser, too. I have a patch of gray in my hair over my eye, that I happen to like. Some old man informed me that I'm too young for that gray. He obviously hasn't lived with my 5 year old. I've earned it! I may get highlights come spring...
Jenny -- I've figured out that eating when I'm upset just leaves me more upset and guilty. But, I do it, too. Hang in there! DH will come to his senses...
Cyndi -- I'm sorry you aren't sleeping. Tylenol PM can be your friend.
Me -- Last night was my monthly Bunko game with the girls. I won! WooHoo!!! I also got to take a Jazzercise class from my favorite instructor on that side of town. But dinner was a dissaster. My options were spaghetti noodles mixed with Rotel and Velveeta, dinner rolls, and iceburg lettuce with shredded carrots, croutons and dressing. OH NO! I am starving after a Jazzercise class! I ate a huge plate of the salad (I use that term loosely) minus croutons with Ranch dressing and maybe 1/2 cup of the pasta, probably less becaus I'm scared of pasta. I was STARVING when I got home last night, but went to bed because I didn't want to eat at 11 p.m. I'm ready for breakfast!
I feel like I've been away for a week or so, but I've been here. Just really, really sick. I'm not so sick anymore but wondering if I'm ever going to get back to normal energy levels. I've mostly been lying around reading taking my opportunity while I can. I've read four books in the last five days. They were all really good too!
Well, today I've got to try to get back to a normal routine as much as I can. Kids are in school, DH is at work, and I am back at work too, since my contract issue is resolved. I don't have much appetite and the things I do want to eat are not on-plan - juice and toast. I'm having tea and salmon toast as a compromise. I'll be back for personals in a bit, I've got to finish pushing DD out the door.
today is gonna be so-so... had the nasty flu yesterday so didnt get much water down. only 4 glasses. stayed in bed most of the day so not much steps. still feeling yucky but got lots to do. housework didnt get done yesterday, so gotta try to get that done and then theres the kids... chloe and brady are only in school half days so i have all 3 running around in the morning... woohoo lol.... have a great day everyone! IDOL is on tonight so i guess that makes it a terrific day after all lol....
stacy x
Good morning, everyone! I was a good girl today and got up early enough to get everything ready, the house straightened, and still show up here before work!
Ruth: I hope that you enjoy your busy schedule at least a bit today. Cottage is right, though, and I know you'll be bringing lots of smiles, hugs and thank-yous home tonight. I hope you have NOTHING planned for tomorrow!
Cottage: Our day looks about the same, which is great. I need the sunshine today! I'm glad you had a nice museum with your grandkids and the girls!
koolaid: I'm so sorry you're home sick. I used to get tonsilitis all the time, but thankfully, that seems to have changed. I hope you and DH get to redo your sarcastic Valentine's!
Cyndi: I'm so sorry you're back to not sleeping! I hope your long work day isn't too long and that you really enjoy your lunchtime walk!
Chelby: I think that, considering the circumstances, you made really great choices last night. Way to go!
Schmoodle: I'm so sorry you're feeling so bad, but I'm glad the contract got worked out! I hope there isn't too much work for you to do while you recover.
dreaminstacy: Hi! I don't think we've "met" yet, but it's nice to do it now! I'm sorry you're dealing with the flu...hope you're feeling much better today.
Me: Today is going to be a loooong work day for me. We're heading out to do the "badlands" inspections again today. I'm bound and determined to finish by Thursday, so I'm going to be out late. I'm praying I'll be home by 6:30 tonight, but we'll see. DH is on strict orders to start the search party if he hasn't heard from me by then. Sigh.
Oh! We got a new stationary bike. We had wanted a bike/elliptical combo, but the one we saw in the ad was poorly made, so we opted to just get the bike. I did 15 minutes of it last night, after my regularly scheduled workout, and it was TOUGH! It'll be nice to have it for bad weather days.
Well...off to browse the net for a bit longer before I have to head to the office!
Ruth - I'm fairly certain that at this point your jam packed day is in full swing. I hope everything gets done relatively effortlessly!!!
Cottage - Glad to hear you had time yesterday to spend with your grandchildren.
Jenny - Sorry to hear that you and your DH got into it last week. I hope things are looking better. And re: food, just get back on and start new. You can do it!
Cyndi - Hope your walk is a nice release today. Just be mindful of where you step!
Chelby - I think I would have done the same thing you did last night. But now you also know that you probably need to do some planning ahead if this is a normal monthly activity. I'm sure you'll have much admiration from the group.
Schmoodle - I was out last week with a cold, but it sounds like you've got it worse. Hang in there. At least you had good reading materials!
Stacy - Welcome to the boards, I don't think we've met! Hope the flu doesn't take you out too bad. I'm with you on Idol....it looks like it'll be a really good season!
Kim - Good luck in the wilderness to day. I hope you're able to get your inspection done safely!!!
Me - Well, as I type the skies have opened up again and we're being drenched. It's been an on again off again rainy weekend, and apparently we're not done yet! We're in a very level area, but it's been a little hair raising for those who are in "burn areas" from last summer's fires. Lots of mud slide scares. Not fun!
Today is DH's bday, but we've been celebrating all weekend. So in actuality this will be a quiet day. Only thing we're doing is going to his parents for dinner. I'm sure food will not be on plan, but considering I haven't been on plan for most of the weekend, I"m not going to freak out, but set my sights on tomorrow AND eat perfectly healthy for the rest of today. Anyhow, I must get going as it's going to take longer than normal to get to work today!
BLESSINGS!!!
GOOD MORNING! I am sort of new here but I have made a new commitment to myself yesterday.
It sounds as though everyone has a crazy day ahead of them
Ruth- I hope your day runs smoothly. It sounds like you are going to be busy but doing things to make yourself and others smile.
Cottage - Glad you had fun yesterday! Enjoy a relaxing time at the hairdressers.
Jenny- I am sorry you are going through some rough times. Take some time, regroup yourself and jump back on the bandwagon!
Cyndi - Sorry you are having a rough time sleeping. Hopefully your walk will help refresh you.
Chelby - YAY for winning! It is tough choosing healthy foods when there are no SBD friendly foods.
Schmoodle - HI! I am sorry your are not feeling well. Hopefully with some rest today, you will be doing better.
dreaminstacy- FEEL BETTER SOON!
Kim - Sounds like you have a rough day ahead of you! I hope everything goes well for you!
I am on my second day of the SBD And things are looking good so far. My day is pretty quiet (well as quiet as it can be with three young boys in the house). Other than running around the house and playing with the boys,i don't have much going on
Good morning everyone! Sorry I have beeen MIA but sooo much is going on. I have been sick and then having problems with my asthma trying haard to keep doc from putting me in hospital. Still battling the adoption stuff and baby girl is finally due out of hospital any day now. On top of all this my mother in law has been in ICU for over a week now and may need open heart surgey after they have already done 2 other surgerys on her. Boy does it ever end?
Hope you all have a great day - I pray for you all even if I'm not on here.
good morning,
Ruth - sounds like a hectic day but you are such a pro at filling up your day timer..
Cottage - nothing like a trim and colour to make ones day good.
Jen - sorry you are sick. Making up with hubby will be fun.
Cyndi - I know what you mean by not sleeping. I go thru periods like that and can't figure out why, right now sleeping like a log. Have a good day and take it easy.
Chelby - enjoy your breakfast. Its my favourite meal
Schmoodles - glad your contract issue has been settled. Four books, wow.
Stacy - three kids, that's enough to tire you out. Enjoy Idol.
Kim - What a long day you have. Enjoy your bike.
Heather - I watched CNN today and what a mess you have in California. Enjoy your DHs birthday
Me - Going to try and go for a walk in the mall this morning. This afternoon I will make chicken stock. Supper is left overs and I'm almost finish reading Slumdog Millionaire. Not too exciting here but that's good. My energy level is still not back. My daytimer (TV Guide) says not much on.
Sophie
Ruth- you do have a busy day!!! Hope everything goes smoothly!
cottage- enjoy your hair appointment! and sounds like yesterday was a blast!
elusive- sorry things are shaken up a bit your way! Hope you get to feeling better soon!
Cyndi- hope you get to feeling better soon! I hate not being able to sleep through the night!!!
Chelby- drives me nuts what some will call salad~!!! I have a friend who thinks lettuce is salad?!?!!! oh me, you did better than I would have probably! I never heard of anyone putting rotel and velveeta on pasta- just for making dips...
Schmoodle, dreaminstacy- I hope you get to feeling better too!
Kim- Sounds like you are on it today chic!
Heather- Mud slides sound super scary to me!!! Stay safe and dry
M3S-
Gonna be- Will keep you and yours in my prayers!
Sophie- enjoy your walk! I don't know if I could walk at the mall, I would spend money at the same time and probably not get a whole lot of exercise!
Me- sorry for being MIA lately... its just so hard to get on here the days I work, and the days I am BAD!!! lol DH took me to olive garden for valentines, suprised me with a dozen roses and stargazerlillies, with concert tickets attached!!! so sunday night we went to see slipknot, trivium, and coheed&cambria. it was awesome!!! I know I got lots of exercise that night in the mosh pit if nothing else lmao. I am too old for that because I have been super sore ever since!
Did anyone else send your info for the biggest loser Bulletin that was posted on here? I got a few emails back and forth and now I have a VIP pass to the front of the line when I go!!! I was just wondering if everyone who contacted them through there got one or if I was special lol
