Hello! Has anyone ever tried the Skinny ***** Diet? I flipped through the book the other day at the bookstore was reluctant to fall victim to another gimmick. At first glance, it looked like a lot of fruit and vegetables. Not completely undoable but I'm looking for something that is going to be realistic and good for a 'snacker.'
Any insight would be appreciated! Thank you!!!
I'm not sure if it's a gimmick, really, but just mostly common sense. From an interview I saw with the authors, it seems like they're just telling people to eat less, to eat whole foods, and things like that. Which you probably could have figured out without buying the book, maybe?
Personally, I love calorie counting. I eat pretty much all day- lots of little meals and snacks (up to 10 on some days), and I've discovered that I enjoy all kinds of neat foods that I can have a lot of.
are you talking about skinny b!**hin and skinny b***h in the kitch and all that? if you're just looking for a diet plan- don't waste your time. i bought all three books thinking they would be a good read come to find out a few chapters into the first book that it's all about converting to veganism. not that i'm against it or anything but most of the first book is ranting about how vegans are good, meat is bad, if you eat animals products you suck... etc. so it's not for me and if you're not looking to become a vegan- save your cash...
i have the book lol! Umm well its like very extemist promotin vegetarianism and whole foods basically. it gets pretty graphic about the way picgs and other such animals are killed, and talks about how we dont really need protein and some other bs.. basically its all about them pushing their cause.
This is what it will tell you, dont eat animal products, eat organic whole foods. There i just saved you a whole lot of wased time and about 10 bucks lol.
I've never read the book or similar but I follow a vegan diet. From what I've heard, I think they advocate more processed foods than I would. I think if you want to look into vegan diets for health/weight loss, I'd recommend China Study and Eat to Live.
Thanks! Im not a vegetarian but I dont eat a LOT of meat. And I stick mostly to non-processed foods. So thank you everyone, for saving me time and money!
I saw the authors on some talk show and it seemed relatively easy but when I was going through the book, it seemed like a whole lotta fruits and veggies and not much else. I have to have some substance!
yeah the thing was that it's not really a diet book... not really a diet PLAN... just a book talking about how to become a vegan. there's not like recipes and daily eating plans and what not... really just a rant book
i know you're looking for a PLAN book but if you want a book that's a REALLY awesome read, will make you feel totally good about yourself, and give you a few weight loss tips too, try How To Eat Like a Hot Chick. it is NOT a diet plan either but it's one of my favorite books. it'll make you feel like a million bucks
Although honestly, I used to be a big meat eater and I loved cheese but I love the food I eat now more than I ever did eating animal products. It was a weird switch and I never want to go back. My husband used to love seafood but now he just rather not eat it.
