Question Combining SBD with Weight Watchers??

Does anyone count WW points while doing SBD? This combo seems like it would work best for me, at least from phase 2 on. I would like to work on eating only to satisfaction but right now I'm more of a grazer. I need to stop eating all day long.

I have low blood sugar problems too and often lose track of just how much I've eaten.

Let me know what has worked for you.

I, personally, hated counting Weight Watchers Points. I obsessed about them. I ate out of measuring cups. I couldn't live like that. SBD provides enough food bounderies that I am successful without counting and measuring. You will be successful with whatever you can do longterm.

Gymrat, over the years, many people have tried combining the two programs. You'll find some info in the following threads:

Thanks Beachgal. Since posting this message, I realized that I really hate to count points and weigh and measure. I've tried to do WW for so long. I think it's time to try something new. I'll do SBD as written and see how it goes for me. I hope I have the self control to stick with it.

Going out to dinner and going to other's house for meals worries me.

Gymrat, I'm glad you're working on figuring out what works best for you and your style. Check out the preparing for SBD thread for lots of great tips on how to get started.

As for eating out and at others houses, let's start a thread on that and see what comes up. I think it's really easy once you get the hang of it. Okay?

That would be really helpful. I eat at my MIL's house at least once/wk and it's usually a meat + potato + winter squash or cooked carrots + another veggie sometimes peas + dessert (freshly baked).

Even though I eat 20 meals on my own, that one meal worries me. How do I get through phase one?

Gymrat, if it were me, I'd just bring my own food. I'd let her know that I'm going on a diet and I need to eat this way but don't want to inconvenience her. On P2, you could bring a side dish that's SBD-safe and eat the meat she serves (unless it has sugar on it or a lot of bad fats).

Laurie, I was thinking I'd do that. I can bring myself a large salad with some toasted almonds and have the meat plus bring the salad dressing. I hate all the fuss everyone makes when you're "dieting" but I guess I'll have to deal with it. I was thinking of saying my Dr. wants me to do SBD. I have had 3 or 4 Drs. recommend SBD to me. Now that I'm pre-diabetic, it really is a health issue. If I was fully diabetic, I wouldn't think twice about telling people I'm on a Dr. recommended diet.
