Hi all! Just popping in to say hi. We've been doing OK over here. Tom got two weeks' notice that he's deploying, so we've been busy dealing with final preparations and emotions and all that jazz. We actually got lucky and it got delayed a month, so we've been able to take care of a couple extra things. Stress and I are not friends and I've been hovering around the uncomfortable-in-my-pants range. I'm working to get my exercise back under control and then I'm going to deal with the eating next. (Food choices seem to generally fall in line when I get my exercise self back together, just because I need to fuel properly for exercise anyway.)
I don't have time to poke around today, but I'll catch up with all of you guys soon. I bet Zeph has her little Connor by now, huh? Is Lisa married yet??? How cold has it been for you northerners? (That's flushed cheeks from the Arctic winds...)
I need to treat myself better and when I visit here consistently I tend to do that, so one of my goals soon is to be posting regularly again. You girls will keep my head above water, I just know it.
Kara I was just thinking about you the other day and hoping you were having too much fun to be online I'll be thinking of you and Tom and the kids and hoping all goes well.
Yes, it's cold here but I'll let Ruth tell you about that.
Hi, Kara! So nice to "see" you again! I hope you do get a chance to pop in more often. Lots of weather whining from me this year but I just know Spring is coming sometime - sometime being April.
Missed you around chica! Hope you guys get everything settled, we'll be thinking of you- and you know the girls around here will definitely keep your head above water!!!
Kara, It's so good to hear from you again! I've been thinking of you a lot lately, too. I'm sorry to hear that Tom is being deployed, does that mean that you'll be moving back to the states? I hope everything works out well for all of you, and am looking forward to seeing more of you around here soon!
Take care!
Kara Good to hear from you. As the other ladies have said, you've been on my mind, hoping all is well. I'll definately keep you, Tom, and the kids in my prayers as you face this difficult time. You know we're here for you when you need us!!! Hang in there!
Thanks for all the kind words! I've been semi-getting back on track. I got into a couple classes at the gym and am having a blast there! The head of the fitness program even asked if I'd consider doing the training to become an instructor. I'll have to think on that one, but it might be a fun time.
Tom came home from work on Monday and said they'd messed up when they were putting all the paperwork through and now he's off the deployment. He's still trying to get back on it because we'd much rather he be gone to a not-as-dangerous place for six months than get picked up for a year-long tour to Iraq or something in Africa that would be just as bad. What a ride, huh?!
If he does end up going, the kids and I are planning on going back to New Jersey for Connor's spring break the first three weeks of April. All three of my sisters are pregnant (due the end of March, the end of July, and the middle of August) so we're doing showers galore in April! Then we'll come back here to Germany and head back to the States after Connor gets out of school in the middle of July. That should break up the time nicely. We'll only have March by ourselves before we take the first trip and then only two and a half months when we get back before the second trip, and he should get home the beginning of September. Trying to think positive.
Going to try to check in more often. Hugs all around!
Hi Kara! We haven't met. It's nice to meet you. I'm a Jazzercise instructor. If your personality is 'outgoing' at all, you will LOVE being an instructor. I put that microphone on my head, and I'm another person! Talk about a power trip! People pay me to tell them what to do -- The more I yell, "PICK UP THOSE KNEES!" or "SQUEEZE THOSE ABDOMINALS!", the more they love it! I wish my son liked it so much.
