Smile Hi all!

I want to introduce myself...my name is Rhonda, I am 50 years old,
5'1" tall, and somewhere between 340 and 351 pounds. And I am addicted to food, especially carbs! Any kind of carbs! Warm bread, yeast rolls, linguinie, bagels, broccoli, carrots, apples, oranges, bananas..you name it! Just food! I use it for comfort, solace, entertainment, a crutch, and oh yea...if I actually get hungry, it helps! I was wasting time tonight, looking through old sites and came across my Fit Day. The first time I visited it was in 2003. About 70 pounds ago. And I am still obese, still struggling, am now a type II diabetic, and heavier than ever. I have tried on-line groups before, but they always seemed to fizzle out and the sites close. I hope this one isn't like that. I'm not sure which group I'm going to go into. I think I need to check out a few and see what all is happening in the neighborhood! But if anyone would like to say hi, I'm a great listener! I would like to say, to all of you out there in your 20's, 30's, even 40's....do it NOW! Because trust me, you wake up one day, and say "HOW DID THIS HAPPEN?" ....Good luck to us all!

Hi there RHONDA . . . . . . so glad to have you joining us, Chickie.

You might also come over and take a look at our Age 50+ forum in the Support Groups area. Sometimes it can really help to chat with others who understand some of the extra problems we face as we reach 'that certain age'. We also have a Diabetes Support Forum that you might like to visit. Believe me, I understand both problems and the carb addiction too. Another place you might want to visit is the Sugar Shakers which is devoted to all the popular low GI/GL programs gaining popularity these days.

I'll be hoping to bump into you in a few of those places . . .

Thanks for the hello's! The 300+ is definately one of the groups I'm checking out this evening! It is good to have others who experience some of the same "obstacles" of being a super size. I'm sooo ready to start checking them OFF of my list! See you there!
