Default Desperate and Stupid.. but still no other choice.

Hello everyone...

I am desperate for a "quick fix". I am completely aware that it is unhealthy and that as soon as I stop I will gain back the weight and possibly plus some... I am ok with that.

I had lost a total of 35 pounds and then stopped working at it and started drinking and unknowingly gained 14 pounds back in about 2 months. In the past 2 weeks, I lost 7 of those 14 pounds from plenty of exercise and eating 5 small meals a day.

The reason I'm desperate for a "quick fix" is because my recruiter called today and told me I have to weigh in and swear in this Thursday. I have to lose 5-7 pounds from now to Thursday morning.

I'm also on my period which is not helping very much! Does anybody have any temporary, quick weight loss methods that will help me get through to Thursday?

Also, just in case someone might suggest it, starving is not a choice either because I also have to take a DLAB that day and I don't want my brain function to be affected.

I think you are just going to have to explain to your recruiting officer that you are PMSing and have gained your monthly 5. What are they going to do? Kick you out?

I'm with Lori - anything that will take that much weight off that quickly isn't healthy and isn't worth it. Just eat VERY CLEAN - drink lots of water - and exercise as much as you can.

A quick fix would be for you to restrict your salt/sodium intake for a week before and then take diuretics the day before and the day of the weigh in.

There are natural diuretics too but not as effective as something like Lasix.

Also you have to watch you don't deplete your potassium level.

And I would definitely runs this by your doctor before you did it to make sure it is safe for you to do.

HEY you said a "quick fix" and I am just thinking out loud here...

You'll hear a lot of negative stuff about cleanses here and for the most part I agree with it all but...

Every once in a while when I feel yucky and bloated or hit a plateau I do a 3 day cleanse that tends to shake off about 5-10 pounds. If you would like the specifics PM me and I'll give them to you.

As others mentioned eating clean and limiting sodium will do a great deal of good.

Pardon my ignorance, but what are diuretics?

And bikini ready, I'm not allowed to PM as I don't have enough posts yet. But I would love some more specifics.

Thursday .... the day after tomorrow Thursday?

You can try salad by the tubful and plain chicken breast. And who knows what will become of period bloat?

Please come back and tell us how it went. Maybe we'll be able to get you to your target and stay there. Perhaps not by Thursday but ....

.

Diuretics are water pills, you take them and then urinate a lot of water weight out of your system.

Way to get rid of bloat/water weight...

Cut out the salt
Cut out the dairy

Get rid of 'glucose' weight...

Cut out the high carb items

Still it takes a few days though.

You can always go back the next week. Go on Thursday and if you don't make weight/tape or whatever it is they do these days, they'll tell you when to come back. Call your recruiter now if you can and just get the date changed. It'll save you some stress.
