Default Sugar Free or Low Carb Yogurt

Hey, Ladies, just wanted to give everyone a heads-up! Dannon and Blue Bunny used to make some good low-carb yogurt with splenda, but i guess once the "fad" of low carb started declining, the companies quit making it, or maybe my area stores just don't carry it.

Anyway, I found some at Kroger's. It's called CarbMaster, and here's the nutritional info (even tho I know most Atkins' folks don't watch fat or calories)

80 Calories
1.5 grams fat
80 mg sodium
90 mg Potassium
Total Carb 4G
Fiber 1G
Sugars 3G

It doesn't say it's sweetened with Splenda, so I'm thinking nutra-sweet, but
it comes in strawberry, vanilla, raspberry, and peach. I had given up finding any, so it was a fluke I looked at all, and wanted to share if anyone else had problems finding good sugar free yogurt.

Good luck everyone!

Funny you should post that!
I can't find any low carb yogurt, so I got some of that Hood's Calorie Control low carb milk (3 per cup) and heavy cream and got out my yogurt maker. I had to let it cook about twice as long (like 10 hrs instead of 5) cause it wouldn't set up. But after refrigeration it was yummy this am. Score!
I'll try to look for the carbmaster brand. What is 5% fage? Is that the full fat version with the blue imprint? Yogurt is a yummy splurge, I glad there is something that you can have and continue this WOE. Can't imagine giving up yogurt for life but the store bought brands are so full of sugar usually.

Fage is greek yogurt...not like ordinary yogurt...rich, thick and delicious. Unfortunately, expensive too! So, I only have it as an occasional treat. The Fage 5% contains 5 carbs per serving, which is another reason I don't have it too often!

Oh, I love Greek yogurt but it is expensive. I usually make Tzaziki for my souvlaki, it's really good. But I can afford the Kroger (they had it 5 for $1) more than I can the Greek. The Hood's is pretty good, I use it to make sugar free pudding or just to mix with some fruit (berries of course) for smoothies, etc. It's nice that there's still some dairy I can have. I miss just having a nice glass of milk with dinner.

Well, I'm trying to make yogurt with Hood's Calorie Countdown 'milk' with a little pure stevia in my yogurt maker. ( hoods has 3 carbs per 8 oz).
I'll let you know how it goes........

Yum. So how does a yogurt make work? Is it where you just let milk (or Hood's) sit until it separates?

I have been buying those carbmaster flavors of yogurt for a long time now but they just added the new flavors strawberry banana, strawberry pomegranate, and blackberry. Exciting!

WalMart carries the Dannon 3 net carb yogurt in vanilla, strawberry, blueberry, and sometimes peach flavors. Four-ounces = 45-50 calories.

I know a lot of areas don't have a Trader Joe's but I get the Greek Yogurt there and it's cheaper.

So many of you mention Hood's 'Milk". I can't find that anywhere, anymore. Not even on Hood's website. What part of the country are you buying it in? Honestly, I would have it shipped to me.

Keep in mind this thread is from January...if they aren't selling it on the Hood's website, perhaps its been discontinued.

Oh you people are so informative. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I just recently found out I am prediabetic and was told to go by the GI/GL Index. But that is really confusing so am limiting my carbs.

My hubby was at the grocery store just now so I was able to call him and have him pick a few of the carbmaster brand Dannon carb & sugar control yogurt.

Thank you, thank you, thank you all.
