Default I Feel All Alone...

So, I've been on here for a few days.. and at first I was really getting into this and then no one ever responded to any of my posts and I'm new and I feel like I do when I go places and I'm ignored bcs I'm the fat person in the room... I guess after this I may just go back to lurking...

But, today has been a bad day and a good day. In the past week I lost 9 lbs and approximately 8 inches. But, I am looking for a job and I got passed over bcs I wasnt thin enough. Now, I know this bcs they did it in a casting call way and the only people they kept around for round 2 of interviewing was the skinny people. I know there is predjudice against us... but it makes me really, really sad ...

So, I dont know what I am going to do next...

Lorrie

P.S. I really want to gorge out right now and am fighting not to do it...

HEY NOW... I was new here not too long ago, and I can HONESTLY tell you that I felt the exact same way. I went from posting a bunch, to posting nothing because I felt kind of ignored. Then I started posting again even with people ignoring me because I had nothing better to do.

LISTEN UP! This is important. What you don't understand is that people are reading your posts, and that your posts do matter. Just because people aren't responding doesn't mean they aren't listening. I found out recently that MY posts, made a couple people actually join the site. And I also found out that some of my posts give other people encouragement, so here I am thinking I'm totally insignificant, when I'm not. I don't know exactly what your posts have been about. But you matter!

I'll personally find your posts from now on, and reply even if I have nothing of any value to say I promise.

P.S. gorgign hasn't solved anything in the past, and won't solve anything now. You have it in you to be strong. Look, you've already lost 2 lbs. THAT'S A BIG DEAL. I would know, I lost those first two pounds once You're going in the right direction

Huh,
that's funny, i kinda felt the same way for a long time....and i'd go away for a while and then come back.
I guess i'm like beautifulace now though in that i just decided to start posting even if no one reads. cuz i get a few responses, and i find it kinda helps me.

I have noticed to that the board is so big and so active that sometimes i'll forget i posted something somewhere, or remember that i posted it but have a hard time locating it.
So i think alot of it's not personal. and trust me, i know when you don't feel good about your body, it's easy to take things personal.

but , there are alot of lurkers here, so people are reading even if they arent' posting back.

I've also noticed new members seem to come in all gung ho, then they disappear, hence, no responses. So it makes it hard to find a consistant buddy.

anyway, don't feel like no one cares.

Lorrie, I too thought no one was paying attention to me of course I feel that way alot, but that's another thread altogether, sometimes I read posts and the reason I don't respond back is I don't know what to say and don't want to sound stupid.

You did great in losing the weight and shouldn't let others (the interviewers) make you feel bad. Just concentrate on your accomplishments, keep posting and stay for the support as it is here.

Kabae, I don't know if you knew this, but if you go to your profile on here you can totally see all of your threads or posts started. You might have known that but I thought I would throw it out there for you just in case!

oh, yeah, and keep it up with your efforts, looks like you broke the 300lb mark, that's gotta feel good!

don't go for the binge, take it from me, do something relaxing, or just turn in early.

im sorry that you feel that way Lorrie

ive started to realise lately that sometimes this place is hard to work out- mainly because it is the internet, it is a bunch of random people, typing a few words in a little box, theres no facial expressions, no voice levels, no body language...nothing! People defintaly read what you have to say, and sometimes it may take a while for someone to reply..i knwow ive waited!ahha
But it is so hard, yet so easy in some ways to communicate over the internet.
easy-1. noone knows you here, you can be your self or whoeevr you want to be.
2. you can share your craziest secrets, wildest dreams anything!
3...theres alot more but im babbbbllliiinng

please dont feel discouraged by this, we need you here, every new post is an experience that at least ONE person (if not 100 more) can relate to.

p.s. 9lbs in 1 week...heellooo thats awesom!

Hey we are all in your corner here! some times you may post something that not nessesarily every oen can relate too- so dont' feel bad.. I've posted some and I've got as little at one or two or no comments back on it and Posted some threads like my funny aspects of being over weight and the weigh in routine one and now have 4 pages worth of answers! LOL or my famous cheeseburger thread.. the point is... some will get answered some will not- don't take offense to it- we are all in the same boat and we are all reaching for that same goal!

your in our thoughts and prayers! you can do this! YOU ARE DOING THIS, AND YOU WILL KEEP DOING THIS! BECAUSE YOU CAN!

If you feel left out please join us in the weekly thread. I hardly ever have time to read all the other postings. I do keep up with our weekly thread. I think you will enjoy the wonderful group of caring ladies who post there.

I have been feeling that way, too. I sent a couple ladies on my board a few private messages, and they were nothing but encouraging words, and some of my own experiences, and they never responded to me at all. It made me feel pretty crappy. But, I am just going to try to let it go, and keep posting. I hope you will do the same. Congrats on your weightloss. You can do this!
