Smile newbee

hi
im new here and am trying to head back to a healthier lifestyle. i was not always fat, and in my mind, im still really thin. its only when i catch site of a mirror that reality sinks in. lol.
i live in a very rural area and people here mainly do weight watchers. that doesn't appeal to me. i am vegetarian and have been trying to go totally vegan over the last year. thats hard because cheese is everywhere.
right now i am eating the worst of foods- the things we are all best avoiding.

thanks for being here.

Welcome to 3FC! I think a lot of us have a disjointed mental image of ourselves vs. reality.....

We have an active vegetarian forum down in the food section. Check it out!! Weight Watchers is really just a method of calorie counting, so you might consider calorie counting (we have an active forum for that too!).

Cheese, ahhh! I hear ya! Some of the ladies in the vegan area can probably give you some great alternatives for cheese!

Stick around and post often!

Talking Welcome!

Hello Kitten!
I am fairly new here too! But so far, so awesome. I was also a vegetarian for a year. I am not a major meat eater but I found that having a flesh eating husband and friends made it hard for me. They are pushers, to top it off, and would constantly harrass me about not eating meat. I survived their mockery for over a year and I would have continued but I became weak from lack of protein. Being a vegetarian does not guarantee health unless you eat right! I found that out the hard way. So I gave it up and started eating meat again. But I stick to turkey, chicken, tuna and sometimes BBQ. other than that I won't eat it! anyhoo just wanted to welcome you! in your weight loss journey!

Hey Kitten - What Midwife said! Check out the Vegetarian Chicks and Calorie Counting forums, as well as forums by age range, etc. Look around, find a spot or two, and settle in.

Can't wait to get to know you better!
