hey corry! the most important meal IS breakfast. when you wake up your body is in starvation mode since it hasnt had fuel for 6+ hours. Carbs are a necessary part to the fueling of the body. Best time to have the heaviest load of calorie/carb food is after a real good workout. You need the carbs to burn in the workout to keep going, and resist the 'lag' in the workouot process! Good luck sista!

Hi and Welcome!!
I know a lot of people who say they like to have a big breakfast. I am a calorie counter so I usually have a bowl of Special K and and some fruit. and definitely don't skip breakfast! whenever I do that, I tend to overeat at lunch time bc im so hungry!
anyway, again Welcome!

With some helpful advice from a personal trainer I have learned, EVERY meal should include Protein. She does not recommend cereal because it does not tend to keep you full. She also recommends eating 6 times a day cut out the carbs on your evening meal, and snack. What she has me eating is... Protein, carb, fat in the am, then Protein, vegi or fruit for snack, then Protein, carb and fat for lunch, Protein, vegi, fruit or carb for snack, then Protein, vegi, and fat. She is great and is not very expensive at all. She gives me lists of foods that fit into the catagories, and tips on when to eat what.

I try to eat breakfast at home, either 2 eggs with a piece of whole wheat toast and half a grapefruit but i realize that it can sometimes be unrealistic so I always keep Organic Clif bars on the ready so I can eat one on my way to work, at around 240 calories, these bars keep me surprisingly full till lunch.

Breakfast is hard for some people, so KISS - keep it simple and stupid

I usually eat

- 100gms LF natural yoghurt
- 120gm tub of fruit puree mixed in with the yoghurt
- Maybe a slice of bread sometimes
- can of sardines / 2 eggs / can of tuna / some ham

I will usually have a 1pt(I'm on WW) bagel with some peanut butter and a fruit. Or I will have a 1/2 cup of fiber one cereal, 1 cup skim milk, and add a fruit or some almonds in there.

Good luck!

I am not a huge breakfast person, but in the last two weeks I have been having breakfast and I am finding that I am loosing weight...that and actually working out... so for breakfast I always have a Carnation Instant breakfast shake for my breakfast, and either oatmeal, granola bar, or yogurt with fruit. It gets me all the way from 8 till 12-1 when my teacher gives me a break. Hope that helps.
