Alli to get over the plateau? What were your results?
I'm thinking about taking Alli to get over my weight loss plateau (not a complete plateau, but my body isn't responding well to my diet plan anymore).
For those of you who were on it for at least a month, could you please tell me your results?
I know about the side effects, and I've looked at the Alli threads on the other part of the forum, so trust me, I've heard a lot about it. However, I can't find anywhere that people have been sharing their results from more than a week in.
Do you think it will help me get out of this slump?
PS- I've tried just about everything else that I've been advised to do to get out of this plateau. Calories up or down, different types of food, exercise, increased activity, etc, etc.
Kelly, how long has it been since you've lost any weight? From your ticker it appears that you are averaging around 12 pounds a month, or 3 pounds a week, and that is super...really. Sometimes your body just need to "catch up". Over the last year I've had periods where the weight loss has slowed down greatly, but then has picked back up. Have you been measuring? I have noticed that the tape continues to move even when the pounds aren't.
And regarding Alli. I have never tried it, but my Aunt & Uncle did for many months, and they did lose a lot of weight, (but they also counted calories). It made my Aunts MS really become active though. Not only does keep you from absorbing as much bad fat, it also keeps you from absorbing as much good fats, (specifically Omega 3 fatty acids which are essential to everyone especially a person with autoimmune disorder such as MS.) Anyway, if you do try it, make sure you take a supplement like cod liver oil or some other fish oil ec.
I found the Alli diet book at a dollar store, for $1. The book itself has some good ideas in it, not sure about the pills though. Go to amazon.com and read reviews, that's always a good source for information. I've tried other diet pills (Hyrdrocut) and I've been losing weight and am not sure if they really contributed or not. I like the energy boost from the packets/drinks. How about a challenge to shake things up? I'm on week two of the Body for Life Challenge and would highly recommend it. It's hard though, lots of weight training, and lasts 12 weeks. I've read a lot of books/advice and if you are working out and hit a plateau, you can try a new exercise program as your body adjusts to doing the same old routines.
