Brrrrrrrrrrrrr! I stayed under the covers as long as I could this morning, and now I'm dressed in a soft, cozy sweater and a pair of corduroys to keep warm. Tomorrow is supposed to be even more frigid. At least I can feel blessed that I don't have to be outdoors for anything today.
Barb, I just can't believe how much trouble your X is making you go through! I would think it would be clear as water to the authorities what he's been doing. How frustrating for you! I'm praying that your lawyer can get things rolling along swiftly. It's ridiculous!
GONNA, I have your wee little baby girl in my prayers. I hope she gets better soon and the adoption goes well for you.

Good morning! I'm trying to work up the courage to take out the trash! It's a major deep freeze around here but it must be done. They closed our municipal dump here in town and, if I miss the pick-up, I need to drive 15 miles and pay a minimum of $10 per bag to get rid of the garbage.
I'm tempted to just freeze the smelly stuff and wait until next week but I had planned to clean out my freezer when Donna comes today.
Keep warm ladies! This is when I'm glad I work....I don't go outside much then .
Me- We made an offer on the house last night :O. It's a short sale (she's going through bankruptcy), so it might be a long process. Sitting on pins and needles til then...
Just working today. DS has 2 hour delay b/c of the icy roads...so he gets to go with mommy to work! It's my long day...but I get tomorrow off! WoooOOO!
Stay warm, everyone!
Barb- just read your post from last night - I'm so sorry you're having to go through this. Hopefully, you have a good judge who will see him for who he is.

Reason: barb's post
here too. Will drinking more coffee help cuz I'm going with that.
Cottage - warm cozy clothes sound perfect. I'm thinking of bringing fleece socks to wear at my desk since no one will see them.
Ruth- good luck with the trash. Too bad you can't hook the dogs up to a cart.
Barb - How frustrating for you! I hope your lawyer is able to get this moving in the right direction fast. Given the police reports it shouldn't be that hard to show that his lawyer is just wasting everyone's time.
Just another cold day here. yesterday I was showing off the cold breeze above my desk keyboard tray. Gotta love old buildings. Window seats are awesome in nice weather but challenging when its cold.
I had a bit of a run-in with our neighbor last night (at 9:30 when I got home from work while standing outside in the cold). Unfortunately the thermostat for the whole house is in her apartment. We talked to her in the fall about how we would all like to use the heat given the price of oil and thought it was a pleasant, friendly discussion and we had all come to some agreement about it. Until a couple of months later when we found out she complained to the landlord. I'm not really good with people who can't just tell me when they have problems. I find it frustrating and have trouble wasting time talking to someone I know isn't actually telling me what they think. I should work on that but life just seems too short. Anyway it's been really hot in our apartment, including during the day when she is working, so I left a message asking if we could talk about the heat during the day. She caught me coming in from work to talk. Well I'm not sure how useful it was, time will tell. But at least i had a chance to ask her to talk to us not to go through the landlord if the arrangement wasn't working. However she referred to feeling bullied in the fall and that isn't a good sign. DP did most of the talking and she is the most non-threatening person I know. We do that intentionally because some people find me intimidating (go figure). It's frustrating, to say the least. She is a nice enough person but one of those who fall into victim mode as a way of dealing with any disagreement and, I suspect, getting her way. Women who use tears to get their way really annoy me. Sorry to rant so long!!
Now that I've used more than my allotment of bandwidth for the day I need to get a warm breakfast going. Hope everyone stays warm and safe today!
Good morning chicks,
I don't know the temp here but it's cold and we got some snow overnight. The kids are delayed two hours this morning.
Gonna, I am thinking of you and that little baby. How is she doing?
I must have missed your last post Barb. Sounds like Robert is up to his games again. I'll go back and read, but in the meantime, you have my sympathies.
have a nice nap me4life. Twynn, congrats on the house offer. I hope it all goes smoothly.
Hope you manage to get rid of your stinky stuff Ruth.
Stay warm cottage!
Well, I'd better haul myself to the shower and get my day started. It's Thursday, so we are almost to TGIF! I'm really looking forward to this long weekend.
ETA: Cyndi, that is really weird to have your thermostat in someone else's apartment. How do you split up the heating bills?
Cyndi - maybe just your DP can talk to her next time. Just you being there might make her edgy, she sounds way too sensitive. (ugh!)
barb - your stb ex sounds like a... well, I won't finish cause you already know. I hope your lawyers can come to an agreement soon.
Twynn - good luck on the house! My current obssession is house buying shows on tv because I really want to own. We have to wait until we get somewhere we will be staying for more than a year though.
Gonnabe - I am sorry to hear about your possible future little one, hope she gets better soon.
Ruth - wear lots of socks! I really dislike the cold, especially cold feet, but I guess it's better than being too hot because you always put more clothes on.
We did go to the store yesterday but I only got through half my list so I will have to go back. I made Curried Carrot Soup last night but I think it needs cheese and chicken in it. I ate OP all day yesterday and it was really hard, which is unusual for me. I almost gave in to a hamburger bun because I figured I could really just start SB today. I nipped that plan in the bud!
The next thing I need to work on, getting enough calories in everyday. I am getting about 1800 but I need to make sure I am eating enough for me and the baby. I've always had a problem with this when I am not eating junk though so it's something I am aware of.
its definitely going to be cold here the next few days! Not to some of your standards I am sure, but compared to what we're used to! Its not supposed to get above freezing until later this weekend. YIKES!
anywho-
Barb- good luck with everything. what a .....
Cyndi- Sheesh.... That kind of attitude bothers me, we have a girl at work who is like that to get her way all the time and it kills me!
flmom- WTG not eating that bun!
Schmoodle, Cottage, Me and Ruth- stay warm~!!
Twynn- Hope everything goes smoothly!
Work is a late night for me but I am off tomorrow so that will be nice. I drank a bit too much wine, well, that is an understatement, last night and I have a tummy ache this morning. serves me right I suppose. I can't get it through my thick skull that I am not going to be able to lose weight while I do this! ugh... OK, enough complaining-I will stay away from the vino, I will put it away and not bring it out for a while! I don't have to be to work till 11 so I may go lay back down for an hour... Hope everyone has a great OP day!
Morning Chicks! I think there comes a point when the actual temp. just doesn't matter because it is just to freaking cold, and I think we have reached that point! Everything here is on a 2 hour delay and I am hearing now that some are starting to close.
Barb Hope things start moving on your divorce, I know what it is like to be in limbo, but I didn't have nearly the problems you are having.
Twynn yeah on the house offer. Crossing my fingers for you!
Hope everyone stays warm and safe today!

Just finished feeding the baby and now the rest of the family is whining to be fed.
My Dad is coming into town today - he is definitely looking forward to a bit of a reprieve from the cold in Minnesota. It's still chilly down here (highs in the 40's the next few days) but I'm sure it will feel nice compared to below zero temps.
Sorry that I don't have time for personals....maybe when things calm down and I get used to this two children thing
Time to get breakfast and more importantly, coffee, going.
Cottage, I hear ya! I feel for our very sweet mail carrier. I know it's going to be cold for her today! Wish I could meet her at the door with some hot cocoa or something. It's frigid out there, and I managed to forget my hat! Brrr! (I'm getting a lot of use out of this smilie this week...)
I didn't read about what's up, Barb, but my heart goes out to you. You're so strong, but I wish you didn't have to be.
Cyndi, what a frustrating situation! It sounds like you and DP are doing alllll the right things and the neighbor is just being a about it. I know what you mean about people who play victim to get their way. Considering how many real victims there are in the world, I think it's an awful thing to pretend you are one. Arrrgh! Putting a thermostat in one place to control another is just insane, IMHO. Our building (at work) is a local branch of the community college. The main campus is over a half hour away, yet they control our heat and AC. Isn't that insane? So if we're freezing here, we have to call them and they change the temp. Oy! Hope you get it resolved soon! Is there any way you can close the vents in your half during the day?
Ruth, good luck with the garbagio. We have our pickup on Mondays and I've been glad for that all week. I'd hate to be schlepping it in this cold!

I've heard that idea before, Pacer, and I fully agree. We've definitely reached that point, though we're not in single digits officially yet. They said it should be -20 to -30 tomorrow with the windchill, though. Yikes! Still, I'm just glad we don't live in Iowa. It's -40* there today!
Me:
Did a lot last night--gym, shopping, and lots of cooking for the dog. The smell of turkey in the air was almost too much for her...she was dancing all over and begging for treats. While I ate my dinner she sat in the kitchen and stared at me. She's so cute! She's on antibiotics for a UTI, so I thought some yogurt might be a good thing for her, plus some blueberries to keep things happy down there. So, I made a "smoothie" for her and froze it in her Kong. She loved that! I added some protein powder, psyllium husk, and cinnamon for me and had it for my snack.
Today is pretty much more of the same...but I have water aerobics tonight. Last week my hair got wet but my friend's didn't. I think I'm going to be working hard to keep mine dry tonight...I don't want to have a frozen head when I leave! I think I'll finish up the evening with some leftovers, then work on the last bit of painting for my friend's son's toy train. Should be a calm night, God willilng.
Cottage - You sound so cute in your cozy sweater and a pair of corduroys. I hope You manage to stay warm.
Ruth - Here's hoping you find the fortitude within you to take the trash out. Do you really want it hanging around for a whole other week???
me4life - Hope you're able to catch some zzzz's
twynnb - I hope all goes smoothly with the house sale. That would be fantastic for you!!!
Cyndi - So sorry things are being communicated as well as you'd like them to. I hope your neighbor understands what you're trying to do for for the both of you. Good luck with that!
Schmoodle - Morning
FLmom - Hope you're able to figure out how to make the soup work better for you.
Rikki - Keep those bottles corked.....believe me, I totally understand!
Stephanie - I'm with you...on both sides of the thermometer....cold is cold and hot is hot. Once it gets to a certain temp...does it really matter? Try to stay warm today.
Zeff - We totally understand about personals, I think we're just impressed that we're still seeing you here on a regular basis. I'm glad that things are going well!!!
Laurie - Good luck keeping your head dry. Don't you just love that we can feed our dogs some of the foods we eat on the beach. My dogs have become bean fanatics!!!
Me - Well....the appointment at the Dr's went well yesterday. He was able to take some blood so that he could get some levels. In a couple of weeks I'll go in for an ultrasound and cultures. And then we go from there. I'm just hoping that we find an answer that we can "fix". I would like to have a name for why I'm not getting pregnant.
Tonight I'm headed to a friends after dinner to help her figure out things for the party they're having on Sunday. I'll be good to chat with her. Watched Biggest Loser last night. They had such a difficult decision to make.....however, it was so good to see how well he was doing today. I love seeing the transformations!!!!
Have a lovely Thursday, ladies!!! BLESSINGS!
BTW....
Gonna - Saying prayers for your little girl today. May God hold her in his hands and keep her safe.
My day started with an unhappy 5 year old. He was unhappy about the shoes and socks he chose. HE chose. Cried all the way to school, then refused to get out of the car in the carpool line. I had to park, and we had a 'come to Jesus'. He still went in the building blubbering. sigh. Some days I don't want to be the mom.
Anyway, I got home and hubby said that if I'd cut up veggies and ham, he'd make me an omlette. He's so good to me.
Running late again...stayed up a little too late watching Juno for the first time. I LOVED that movie! It's definitely going to be one I buy in the near future!
hmac: I still haven't caught Biggest Loser. I have no clue who the contestants are or what's going on. I hope that the Fine Living Network has a marathon this weekend. I'm glad the Dr. has a plan for figuring things out for you. You and DH are in my prayers.
Laurie: I miss water aerobics. I used to go in college and it was so much fun! The group my friends and I did it with was a bunch of retired Navy wives...they were a hoot! I hope you have a great "dry-hair" workout!!
Zeff: I agree with Heather! Nobody judges you AT ALL for not posting personals. We're just happy you're here at all and that we know everything is going smoothly for the four of you. I hope your Dad has a nice trip in!
Pacer: I hope you stay warm and safe!! My cut-off is pretty much anything below 32*F, but I'm a big wimp!
Rikki: I don't know how long you've had it up, but I love your avatar. You're gorgeous, lady!! Enjoy your day and I hope the vino tummy ache is gone before you head to work. I know that feeling and it's fun while you're doing it, but not the next morning!!
fl_mom: WTG ignoring the HB bun cravings. It's great that you were OP all day and I'm sure you'll do well today, too.
Schmoodle: I'm envious of your long weekend. We don't get MLK Jr. Day off, we get Texas Independence Day off instead. Don't get me started on how I feel about that. Either way, it is almost TGIF and the weekend's still something to look forward to! Enjoy your late day!
Cyndi: Thanks for noticing my workout minutes! It's been a bit of a struggle some days, but I'm gradually getting into the habit of doing something 6 days a week and that feels great. I measured myself in Dec. and plan on doing it again on the 31st. I know I'm losing inches, though. All of my clothes, my jeans especially, are looser. I hope things turn around with the neighbor situation. Good luck with that!
Twynn: Have a nice, warm day at home!!
Ruth: I hope you made it out and back in with the trash in quick time! Hope you have a nice, warm day inside!
Cottage: Warm and snuggly in corduroy pants sounds like the way to go. I've always wanted a pair, but am afraid to buy them. I'm not sure why! I hope you have a nice day!
Barb: What Robert is putting you through right now is crap and I hope you and your lawyer are able to get this fixed and finalized quickly. What a wretched man he's turned into! I hope you and Brian are able to focus on yourselves right now.
Gonna: Sending up prayers for you, DH and baby!!!
ETA:Chelby: I hope you're having a better day now. I'm sure that DS's tears were gone by the time he sat down in class. Enjoy your day!
Me: Not much going on here. I'm trying to decide if I should work through lunch or not. I took off a bit early yesterday out of sheer annoyance with one of the girls in the other office. It was probably a bad call on my part, but I was afraid that if I stayed, I would have said something I'd regret. The good thing is that the whole house got a good cleaning (including scrubbing all the baseboards ) and all the laundry is done. My goal is to keep it as clean as possible so that next Thursday night I can just straighten up. My family gets in late Thursday night for our Christmas together.
Well, not much else going on. DH has received info packets from the Army, Army Reserves, the Air Force and the Air Force Reserves. I'm partial to the Air Force, but it's ultimately up to him. I'm trying to start preparing my heart and mind for the possibility of deployment, being stationed overseas and etc. He said if he decides to go in, he wants to start basic no later than May, so that's coming up quicker than I may be ready for. Oh well...nothing's set in stone and he may still decide he just wants to pass his life as a civilian.
