Default WW works for me. I need to focus!

I know WW works for me. When I lived in town (and had more spending money) I attended the meetings and I really loved them. I even made a very good friend. She and I couldn't afford to go anymore as I was driving 100 miles round trip just to go. So, we are going to start at home.

So, I just wanted to say hello. I hope to write a lot on here because I really need the support!

The plan really does work Posting regularly & speaking with your friend should help support you along the way.

You can do this!

One thing that has always been a road block for me are family gatherings. What is the best approach when you know you'll be eating with family at least once a week? Small portions? Bringing my own salad?

I can't speak for you, but I find that I look at the food presented and try to choose mostly veggies and a little protein for my plate. And if that means a meat without a bun or only a large salad that is fine. I know it is hard, the hardest was not making the host family member feel like they needed to make 'special food' for me..I just tried to convey that the more veggies the better but fix what you will I will still eat LOL

Not sure what's the best for you, but for me it's smaller portions + a big salad

My mom uses WW, so it's different, but I do load up on the salad she makes for dinner before I dig into any other food she makes. And then I just pretend I'm at my house. I take one portion, enjoy it, and leave the rest.

I just started the WW at Home program. I am in fact still on the 1 week free trial. I really love the Points tracker and alot of the supper recipes. That is def. where I fail the most during the day. I do great until I get to the evening... then it usually goes down hill.

How much exercise does everyone do?

I try to do atleast 30 minutes a day.

A good tip for family gatherings is to fill most your plate with the healthiest food there. Then squeeze a couple of your favorite items in whatever space is left.

I'm not sure what "Weight Watchers at Home" means, but I am counting points, and not going to meetings. I am not making use of the WW site.

I succeeded once counting points and going to meetings. I can't afford the meetings or the online WW, but I think I can do this by myself. I also have a 3D friend and we're supporting each other.

Thats is the definition I get from WW at home...just simply means that you're doing it on your own without the meetings...I can't afford the site, so I'm not using it either...I'm doing the same thing you are!

I think the ww at home can mean either....ie you are either doing it at home without using the tools on the ww site or you are doing ww at home without the added tools. There are many of us that just can not afford the online.

I have found the members here to be helpful and supportive

Yeah I'm doing it at home. I just started this past week. I don't even have the books right now. I do research and have a points calculator on my iPhone. The app's were super cheap (.99-1.99) I have a tracker and calculator. There was also a free restaurant app. that has a listing of calories for restaurants and everything. That comes in very handy! I think eventually I will get the books, but my DH wanted me to actually stick to it before I jump into anything. When I do get the books, I'll get them on Ebay.. everything (well, not everything) is cheaper there LOL
