Hi there. I am so glad that I have found this site. I am a diabetic, have been for a while. I need to get it under control NOW! I have before and i Know that i can again. I just lost my mom at the end of August from complications of diabetes. I am going to learn from her. I am so glad that i found this forum and I am excited to get to know you all and make some friends.

I normally don't post in this thread but I feel your pain. I am sorry about your mother. I was dx'ed with diabetes 2 years ago and have not made it a priority to get my health in line. In October I had an abcess that had to be drained during surgery. It has been 3 months and my wound is finally almost healed. That is way too long but it also was a huge wake up call.

I went to the doc on Wednesday and she put me on new meds. They have changed them several times over the last few months trying to get the right combination. I am also on a very strick diet that is mostly protein. I go back in 3 weeks. I am hoping to be down about 10lbs by then and my bs be in check. I have what they call the dawn phem. where my bs goes up early in the morning.

So if you want I will hold your hand through your weight loss journey.

Thanks for the welcome i really appreciate it. I need to head back to the doctor, i just got insurance so now i can.
