Well, it's officially a New Year, and that's means it's diet season on TV and the radio. I wanted to do a post and see who can count the most diet commercials in a day! It's amazing the amount of money these companies spend. Yesterday, while I was home for lunch, I was watching CNN and in just under an hour I saw the same nutrisystem for men commercial no less than 8 times - even 3 times in one commercial break! So I decided to count for the rest of my TV watching day, and just in prime time at night, and watching my Tivo'ed Dr Phil and Oprah, I came to a total of around 23 plus another 3 on the radio driving! (Can you tell how exciting my life is? LOL... )

I've noticed a lot, as I'm a stay-at-home mom and the TV keeps me company most days when the boys are at school. I also noticed at Wal-mart yesterday afternoon that where the Christmas stuff used to be is now FILLED with work out equipment, diet foods, work-out DVD's and other diet aids.

I had to laugh as I was stocking up on several of my favorite low calorie canned soups, salad dressings and other items when I remembered the thread yesterday about the rude checker lady with the uncalled for "3 day failure" comment to one of our members here at 3FC. I was ready with a comment "just in case" as I went to check out with all my awesome diet food that were wonderfully marked on sale this week!!

Lol I haven't seen ANY! There's usually a WeightWatchers one going about at this time of year, but I haven't seen one yet.

But 8 of the same commerical in one hour? How many ad breaks does CNN have?!

At the front of the local Barnes and Noble is the newest diet books. Instead of buying any, I did speed reads while my boy played in back.

So what company is going to make the most money? In a down economy how do diet companies do? I'm into stock investing, and at one point I started researching Nutrisystem and others to buy.

Well, I watched the Biggest Loser on Tuesday live instead of from Tivo so I think I saw a bazillion. *runs off to buy some Extra gum*

I think I see/hear about 20-25 a day!! I like the one on Discovery Channel, where the girls tell the burger, "You're just no good for me!" and then turns around to hug a carrot!!
