Smile My Dilemma

Hi Everyone!

I am a long time lurker, but I have never really posted anything. I am really committed to losing weight this time and I know all you ladies will be a big help! My issue is that I don't have a huge amount of weight to lose...that has almost stopped me in the past. In moments of temptation, I could always just tell myself 'Oh I'm not that big'. The problem is that type of thinking is causing me to gain weight (especially over the holidays).

I have also found that, since I am technically around the correct weight for my height, my body is VERY unwilling to give up any pounds!!

Has anyone experienced this? Any advice for the stubborn last 10 to 15?

Hi there Cooperistic

So glad you decided to join & post You'll definitely want to check out the Featherweights area. Those with fewer pounds to lose (especially when they're already within a proper weight ratio) will find it harder. But with persistence, you can lose the weight.

Please, post wherever you're comfortable.

Welcome! You should look into the Featherweights forum: http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=197 The weight might come off really slowly, but healthy eating and exercise can help you look and feel better regardless of what the scale shows. Have you considered strength training?

Welcome to 3fc

I'm also down to my last couple of pounds and they're the most stubborn of all. I've come to the conclusion that my gluteus maximus, triceps and abs are afraid of being damaged or hit - so they're decided to coat themselves in fat... (ermm....for protection)

Like Faerie, Midwife and DisgruntledOne said - the lightweight forum is probably the best place for you around here - you can chat to other chickies with just a couple of lbs to lose.

I hope you stick around

-M

Yeah, those last 10-15 pounds are some hard ones to get rid of! Trust me, I feel your pain.

You need to further reduce your calories (no going under 1,200 though) and when that stops working, start to increse them, reduce them, increase, reduce, and switch up your exercise routine. Try incorporating new activities and upping the intensity/duration.

You'll lose 'em, you just have to be patient. What you also have to remember is that your body composition is just as important as your weight if not much more so. If you're going down in fat, that is just as big of an accomplishment as going down in pounds would be.

! we welcome people of ALL sizes
