I am very new to this forum and am looking for some buddies. I am 34 and have been in working 50+ hours and going to school at night for almost four years. I stopped cooking when I started school- that became my husband's job. So a lot of meals are on the go and just plan unhealthy. My mother has diabetes, high blood pressure, cholesterol problems and has always been overweight. She had lap-band surgery one year ago and is making progress. I know I need to get my weight under control before I get in her position. I have been lucky so far. I do not have a scale, so I guessed at by current weight. All I know is that I am a size 16, on my way to a size 18.
Past excuses I will no longer be using:
- no time
- i still have my health
- might as well enjoy life now
Steps I can take today:
- no more soda
- drink more water
- reduce sugar intake

Look around...we have a ton of forums you might investigate, by age range (like the 30-somethings), eating plan, etc. So look around, find a spot, and settle in.
